Mike was Logan and Laurel's uncle. Did their behavior violate ethics?
Amy knew that she should have pushed him away, but she could not do that. It felt good being kissed by him.
Mike was also surprised by his actions. What he was most proud of was his self-control. But every time he saw Amy, it was as if he had taken some kind of drug. He could not control himself at all.
It seemed that he was really sick and incurable.
Mike stopped kissing, cleared his throat. His voice sounded hoarse and amazing when he said, "Sorry, I'm late."
Her lips felt so empty. Amy had a sense of loss.
Amy couldn’t help laughing. Lost? How could she even have such feelings? How could a man like him like her?”
‘Mike didn’t even understand what jealousy was. Probably, he just kissed her to express how sorry he was for being late. People react in different ways. Kissing on the cheek was a way of greeting for French people.’
A kiss really didn't mean anything.
Mike. The name was synonyms with nobility and majesty. She couldn’t think to be with him.
The silence made the atmosphere a little awkward. Amy cleared her throat, and as soon as she wanted to say something to ease the inexplicable embarrassment, she heard Mike's voice, "I'll take you to the hospital."
"No!" Amy quickly shook her head. "Mike, most of the blood on my body is of that guy. I haven't been hurt much. Once I get back home, I will apply some ointment."
Mike frowned. He couldn’t feel relieved until Amy see a doctor. But since Amy insisted, he did not mention the hospital again.
Amy thought of something and said, "Mike, can you please drop me off at Bayview neighborhood? I am afraid that if I go to Steven’s house like this, I will frighten Logan and Laurel."
"May I use your phone? I'll call them, or else they'll be worried."
Without saying anything, Mike handed her his phone. Amy saw there were many w******p notifications and Mike was yet to reply. They were all sent by ‘Bring daddy home."
Bring daddy home? Wasn’t it Logan's w******p nickname? Why was he texting Mike?
"Mike, why don’t you reply to the messages first?" Amy asked him.
"Mm." Mike seldom read w******p messages, but there was a message from Logan. The child looked like him. He didn't want to make him sad.
Bring daddy home: Uncle Mike, are you with Mommy?
Amy was in his arms. Her face blushed the moment she saw the messages sent by Logan. She thought Mike would lie to Logan. She did not expect him to reply honestly. Mike replied, "Yes."
Bring daddy home: Oh, I see. Cool, I won’t disturb you then. Please go on.
Mike: Mm-hmm.
Amy was confused. Go on with what? For some reason, she thought he meant it in a naughty way. She was confused even more because Mike replied with the word "Yes."
Maybe there was no hidden meaning in his reply as she assumed. It seemed that he always reply to all messages with the same word.
All she wanted was not to be misunderstood by Logan.
Amy weakly pointed at the phone in his hands and said, "Mike, can I borrow your mobile phone?"
She dialed Logan’s cell phone number. He picked up the phone almost immediately. "Mommy, you are using Uncle Mike’s mobile phone?"
Amy felt inexplicably guilty when Logan asked her such an innocent question. She cleared her throat, "Yes, mommy’s cell phone is broken, so I borrowed Uncle Mike's cell phone."
“Logan, why don't you and Laurel stay with your dad tonight? Mommy has something to take care of. So I won't come to pick you up yet.”
"Mommy, don't worry, I won't bother you and him." After a pause, Logan went on to say, "No matter whom you choose to be with, I will always support you."
Laurel was also next to him, she briskly shouted at the mobile phone, "Mommy, I will not disturb you and Uncle Mike."
Amy felt so confused. ‘What were her children thinking all day?’
She tried to explain Logan and Laurel something when she heard them say, "Good night mommy, Uncle Mike." And they hung up.
Amy was stunned. She gazed at the screen of the mobile phone. She knew that Mike must have listened to what Logan and Laurel were saying.
She was afraid that he would misunderstand, so she hastily said, "Mike, don't listen to their words. They are talking nonsense. I never thought about you that way."
"You are Steven’s cousin. How could I have bad thoughts about you? You must believe me.”
"Mm" His tone was still indifferent, but his eyes obviously darkened in a second.
Amy took a deep sigh of relief seeing that Mike had no misunderstanding. She didn’t know why but she felt that there was a kind of loneliness within him whenever she heard him say “Mm.”
Mike decided to take her to his villa instead of her home in the Bayview Neighbourhood.
"Mike, I asked you to drop me off at the Bayview Neighbourhood. Why did you bring me here?"
"I have medicine here." After a pause, Mike added, "There will be no scar."
"Okay." Amy answered meekly. It seemed she thought too much. She realized there was no point in even going to her apartment right that moment as Steven moved all her belongings to his villa. She probably couldn’t find even a single anti-inflammatory drug.
Why not go to his villa to get some medicine? Amy could apply medicine on the wounds that were on her face and chest. However, it is a little difficult for her to deal with the wounds that were on her back by herself.
Amy dropped her clothes to her waist. Her back felt very painful. It seemed that there were still glass pieces inside the wound. Amy stretched out her hand trying to get those glass pieces out. However, the pain made it difficult for her to remove the debris that she cried out in pain.
The door was suddenly pushed open, and Amy was startled by the noise. She turned around and found Mike standing at the door.
Amy let out a gasp as her upper part was naked.
