Chapter 12 Mike was jealous

Amy was shocked. She didn’t think that those people would do such things to her. The trick the woman played was vulgar, but Amy didn’t want to be subjected to shame.

She had seen many online videos where many home-wreckers were stripped naked and beaten badly. Her career and reputation would be ruined if such a video was posted about her.

Susan attempted to kill her.

"Shameless b***h! Home-wrecker! I’ll kill you! I’ll kill you!" The woman kept uttering these words and reached for Amy’s shirt, to rip it off.

Amy was scared. She didn’t want to get beaten up by crazy and angry women. But given the circumstances, there wasn’t much she could do.

Mike squinted his eyes and took a step forward.

Before the woman reached Amy, she was pushed on to the ground.

"Ahh!" The woman screamed like a pig. "Who pushed me? I will kill you."

Steven came and stood in front of Amy. He gently patted his hand and said, "Oh, so greasy."

"You? Son of a b***h, how dare you push me away? I will kill you."

She then spoke to the women around, "Ladies, let us show this yellow-haired bastard who we are today.”

Yellow hair? Steven touched his head. His hair was indeed yellow. But he didn’t like people calling him yellow hair.

He hated hitting women. But if they dare to bully Amy, he decided he didn't mind doing so.

The woman kept shouting for a long time. But no one dared to come forward. She stomped her feet with anger. She was about to say something else when a woman amongst the crowd took her arm and said, "He… he seems to be Steven Daniel."

"I don’t care who he is. He is helping this b***h. I will kill him today." As she spoke, she thought to pounce on him.

At this moment, Zach grabbed the woman's arm to calm her down. He wiped the cold sweat forming on his forehead and forced a smile. "Mr. Daniel, why are you here?"

"What, can't I visit my hospital?" Steven held Amy in his arms. Although it seemed casual, the sight overwhelmed those people. They couldn’t even catch their breath.

"Yes, of course." Zach laughed so happily that his mouth started to feel cramped. "Mr. Daniel, you and Dr. Amy..."

"She is my wife." Steven held her tighter. Then he squinted his eyes to look at Alex who was in front of him and said, "Are you saying my wife seduced you? Ridiculous! When she has me, why would she even look at someone like you?"

Listening to his words, the people surrounding them couldn't help but compare Steven and Alex. Everyone realized that they had been blind. Any woman would want to touch Steven’s muscular body than Alex’s fatty personality.

It was obvious that Amy was set up by that shameless couple.

"Dad! Mom!"

Logan and Laurel rushed over towards Amy. Logan looked at Amy up and down, until he was sure that no one hurt her. He then felt relieved.

Laurel looked at her father with adoration. "Dad, you are so handsome."

As he was praised by her daughter again, he felt so happy.

His heart turned soft and tender. He hugged Laurel and said, "Handsome? You can do better."

“Childish.” Logan secretly muttered at their exchange.

"Wow, those kids are so cute."

"Their whole family is so beautiful and attractive that they can be confused with celebrities."

"The couple who made up the act was disgusting. All they tried to do is find a fault with others. They shouldn’t have done that. Look at him! How could Mrs. Daniel ever wish to be with someone who looks like a fat pig?”

The woman’s expression changed after listening to the conversation around her. She might be stupid, but she knew that Steven was the son of the renowned Daniel family.

Steven’s family was scary. But Mike’s family scared her to death.

Her body trembled and she directly fell on Amy’s feet for mercy. "Mrs. Daniel, I was wrong. I deserve to die!"

As she spoke, Sheila started to hit her face continuously.

Amy didn’t like to bully people. But she had never been insulted like this before. She gave her a cold look and said, "Didn't you say I seduced your husband?”

"I’m sorry." The woman shook her head hard. "You didn't seduce my husband. I lied about it. An anonymous person gave me money to set you up."

Everyone went up in a roar. Mrs. Daniel was truly framed by them.

She was proved innocent. Amy had put a stop to all the false accusations.

When Alex saw she didn’t blame them, he hurriedly pulled his wife back and left.

Amy turned towards Zach, "Director Zach, isn’t it time for me to get started with the resignation procedures?"

He shook his neck so fast, he might have broken it. "Dr. Amy, don’t play jokes with me. We need such a talented doctor like you. How can you quit?"

Amy’s lips twitched, "But Director Zach, a while ago, you said clearly..."

"I am extremely sorry, it was a misunderstanding." he forced a smile. "Dr. Amy, let's learn from each other’s mistakes and make progress together."

She didn’t like the snobbish look he was giving, but at that moment she had no reason to believe he was a part of the conspiracy too. So she didn’t do anything about him.

Realizing that Steven was still holding her, she hurried out of his arms and asked him, "How come you are here today?"

She decided to clear some things with him. Although he was Logan’s and Laurel’s father, they were not husband and wife or lovers. She wanted to avoid intimate physical contact.

"I wanted to pick you up and go to my home." he smiled at Amy. "Amy, I want to move your things and children’s to my place tonight so that you can come live with me.”

She was stunned. When did she agree to live with him?

Without waiting for her reply he kept speaking, "Amy, I bought a new grill. Shall we have a burger together tonight?"

"Well, Mike, I didn’t notice you. Why are you here? Would you like to come and have a burger with us tonight?"

Mike looked at Amy, standing beside Steven and her children around him. His chest felt inexplicably heavy. He said, "Hmm!"

"Huh?" Steven was stunned. He only asked out of courtesy, nevertheless, Mike had actually taken it seriously.

He planned to be with Amy tonight and wanted to get intimate with her. He had heard girls these days liked to be dominated. He was going to do that with her. But if Mike was there, he wouldn’t get a chance to do anything.

Steven was in awe of Mike, who was called a business wizard. And he didn’t dare to tell him no. So he laughed and said "We’ll be happy if you have dinner with us tonight. We’ll cherish your company."

He wanted to say something else when his cell phone suddenly rang. It was his mother, Elena.

Her voice was so loud and angry, it hurt his eardrum. "You bastard! The girl you met in a hotel five years ago came with a child. Come and take care of this mess."
