I sigh loudly as I stand at the stove, cooking dinner for myself and Jacob. In the week since our argument, Hawk hasn t been around the house for dinner. Instead, he s coming in right before Jacob goes to bed. He reads him his bedtime story and then mindlessly watches TV, drinking a beer. I, in turn, go to my bedroom and work on homework until I can't keep my eyes open anymore. It s getting annoying, but I figure this will be the way we re going to live our lives from now on.
