A child crying forces me to sit up straight from a deep sleep. Confused about my surroundings, I glance around, noticing that Hawk is still sleeping in the chair he d crashed in last night. He s even snoring softly as my heart pounds in my chest. Getting off the couch, I push back a blanket that Hawk must have covered me with before he went to bed last night. It touches a soft spot inside me, but as I hear Jacob screaming, I hurry to get to him before he can wake up Hawk. Morning, handsome boy, I coo at Jacob, causing him to smile.
