“Ok back to your dream… spill the beans. I have had premonitions before and avoid the outcome if possible.”
“Don’t worry it wasn’t a premonition it was something else.”
“So, spill the beans.”
“I’m so glad we aren’t face to face right now. What is your favorite scent?”
“Don’t change the subject.”
“You know like Rose, lavender, vanilla, strawberry, etc. Not sure what you are talking about the subject was your favorite scent what is it?”
“Tell me about the dream.”
“It was interesting.”
“Ok spill it.”
“It was interesting. So glad you can’t see me right now. Favorite color and still waiting on the favorite scent.”
“I will answer your questions once you finish telling me.”
“I was reading a romance novel and then chatting with you before I went to bed. I had a very awakening dream. VERY VIVID.”
“Me and you?”
“Yes. Haven’t been able to sleep since. Now answer my questions.”
“Ok not a big thing to cause a fuss about. Favorite scent is vanilla. Favorite color is aqua blue.”
“Well, you weren’t in my head. You were just... never mind favorite food type?”
“What does that mean?”
“Favorite drink? Ignoring that question and moving on. Alcoholic and nonalcoholic drink? Favorite kind of snack type foods?”
“Is this out of readers digest or a women’s magazine? A lot of these depend on mood and have many variables.
I continued with the twenty questions until I was satisfied that I had all the answers I was seeking to make his birthday surprise something wonderful. It had broken my heart to hear him talk about never having a celebration just for him and I wanted to make this year something special for him. He kept telling me to breath and slow down. I told him that I liked to get everything in order I wanted to make this special for him.
“Here is something you can dream about tonight.”

“Dang you. Not going to sleep tonight. When I’m texting you at midnight and three am it’s your fault.”

“I didn’t even do anything fun yet.”

“No, I think it’s more than 100 right now. You are the devil today I should have never told you about that dream.”
“When I begin to kiss your body, I want you to count each kiss and stop me until I get to 1000. That’s the whole point of this you didn’t tell me about your dream so now you have to experience it. There is not enough cold water in all the icebergs to cool the flame that you ignited.”
“You are so going to pay for this. Not sure when or how but you will pay. Beginning to think that you are right about the icebergs right now. I haven’t been this hot and bothered in a long time and it’s your fault.”
“I can cool your thighs with soft licks of my tongue.”
“That’s not cooling anything.”

“The thing is that you almost described the whole dream. Almost.”
“Ok well what did I miss? If you tell me I will give you what you want.”
“I’m good tonight, I think. Never knew someone could get to me like you did.”
“I’m not talking for tonight. The kids are there that would be bad.”
“Yes, well I’m finally cooling off and if I tell you tonight, I will heat up all over again.”
“Just the part I missed.”
“I know.”
“Ok don’t forget it because I will ask again.”
“I know you will. Subject change how is work going?”
“Only way it could be better is if I was with you.”
“That’s good must be slow tonight with all the texting you have done. You sure got chatty tonight.”
“No same as always. I got the impression you needed it.”
“Well, I probably did. I’m just not used to someone describing what they want to do to me. Oh, and what’s this about a safe word?”
“A safe word is to let the other person know when to stop. I learned about a safe word from an episode of CSI.”
“Oh my. Getting hot again. Dang air conditioner doesn’t seem to be working right.”

“I do need to sleep tonight hopefully. But the dream won’t keep me up our conversation tonight will.”
“The only way to get beyond it is to experience it firsthand. I can arrange that. I realize you shouldn’t have intercourse this soon, but can you get in a hot tub?”
“Yes, I can. Are you thinking of hot tubs for our next date?”
“Yeah, that is good on the back and the legs.”
“Ok well I have a babysitter for a few hours on Saturday we just need to know what we are doing.”

“I did like that wine. For Saturday? Yes, we don’t need me drunk. Aside from that heat from the hot tub, heat from my body and alcohol ya wouldn’t be good.”
After that our conversation turned to hot tubs and the next date we were planning. All because I made an off the cuff remark of wondering how it would feel to relax in a hot tub in someone’s arms. We discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the local hot tub spots until we finally settled on two. During the pandemic it was hard to just walk in and get one you needed to make reservations. So, after finalizing the tiny details I was able to book the hot tub for us while he was at work and let him know it was done. I wished him a great night as I was going to hopefully bed to lay my head down on the pillow and fall asleep.
