Unknown POV
Man I was thirsty!! I stood at the side of the road watching and waiting. The rain beat down across my face and the wind howled around me. This was one hell of a storm and it was only going to get worse. Being a Vampire the weather never bothered me - One plus point of being dead!
I could sense a car coming from the East, it was a few miles away and going a little faster than the speed limit. It would pass me by in the next few minutes. It would take no effort at all for me to flip the car and stage an, oh so tragic, accident. I could hear the thoughts of three lives in the car. My mouth started to water and I could taste the venom on my tongue. It was time to feed.
My attention turned towards the thoughts and conversations inside of the car. The front passenger was screaming, this chick was sooo loud I couldn't make out what she was so pissed about! There were no words just noise. It seemed to be directed at a male driver who was doing his best to concentrate on the road. Whilst the females mind was angry selfish and entitled, his was calm and deep. And so patient!! How he could put up with all that yelling was beyond me!! I would drain her first, I decided. Get the noise out of the way so that he could at least have some peace and quiet when he died.
The car was coming towards me and I crouched forward ready to spring into the air.
Two things seemed to happen at the same time. Firstly, through the wind and the rain I caught the sent of the lives in the car... WAREWOLVES. Great! There go my dinner plans! Warewolves are not something you want to chow on as a vampire! Trust me!! I barely had time to register my disappointment went the car jerked violently to the left. The driver must have lost complete control of the steering! Either that or he decided to end his life!! The car sharply turned back towards the way it had came from before leaving the road completely. I watched in slow motion as the car came crashing back down on the passenger side. There was the sound of smashing glass along side the gurgling scream as someone lost their life. The car continued to move on its side scraping along the road. The grinding noise of the metal against the gravel road was setting my teeth on edge. More glass smashing, and the overwhelming smell of petrol fumes as the car reached its final resting place.
There was only one life now, and one thought 'April' The thought was agony combined with a love so strong it caused me physical pain. If I'd had a beating heart it would be breaking in two. If this 'April' felt the same way about this male then she would die soon after he did. Somewhere deep down a long forgotten human feeling of compassion stirred inside me.
Before I could stop myself I shadow-jumped into the car and back out again with the male. A lightening-speed assessment told me he was fine. His face was pretty badly smashed up and there was a deep cut across his left eye that would probably leave a scar... He had some broken limbs but no internal damage. He was a young Alpha Male I could tell just by looking at him. His blue eyes looked incredulously at me. His mortal enemy had just pulled him from a car.. I was pretty confused myself.. perhaps I should have just left him in there..
"Vampire"! It was a statement not a question. "Alpha"
A violent explosion came from behind us! The mangled car was now a fire ball, and thick smoke was billowing up into the air. Flames came from all sides silencing any question of additional survivors.
The pure blue eyes of the Alpha rolled to the back of his head as he slipped into unconsciousness. Sirens began to wail way off in the distance. My exit song ladies and gentlemen...…..
