Chapter 8, Catching Anthony's girlfriend

839 Words
Lerisa sighed, knowing she couldn't miss Anthony's birthday party. She had been there for him since his seventh birthday, and now he was an adult. She realized that if she didn't attend, it might seem like she was jealous or holding a grudge, which would disappoint her parents. As she drove, her gaze fixed on the road, she prepared to turn onto another street before joining the main road. Suddenly, she noticed a lady and a man kissing in front of a black car parked nearby. Lerisa wondered who the shameless couple was, publicly displaying their affection instead of finding a more private spot. She knew that mostly wealthy families lived in the area, with many houses owned by families rather than tenants. As she approached the black car, she caught a glimpse of the lady's face and was shocked to realize it was Anthony's girlfriend, Clara Harry, kissing the man by the roadside. Lerisa's jaw dropped as she slowed her car to get a better look. The man wore a white top and black trousers, while Clara sported a short blue jean skirt and a pink crop top. Lerisa couldn't believe that Anthony's sweetheart, whom he planned to propose to, was so boldly kissing another man. She parked her car further down the street, unable to look away. "The same lady Anthony wants to propose to today," Lerisa's heart ached. She loved Anthony deeply and was unsure how to tell him the truth. She pulled out her Android phone, considering whether to call Anthony and catch Clara red-handed. Lerisa didn't want to be the one to break the news that Clara wasn’t faithful. "What do I do now?" she wondered, still seated in her car. She thought about confronting Clara but hesitated, fearing the man's reaction and not knowing who he was. "The man is so shameless for kissing Clara in public. Who is he? A thief or a bad guy?" Lerisa contemplated as she watched the couple kiss again. Clara was known for her rudeness, and if it weren't for Lerisa's feelings for Anthony, Lerisa wouldn't care about Clara's infidelity. Finally, she stepped out of her car and discreetly snapped photos of Clara and the man, avoiding using her camera flash to keep her presence unnoticed. After securing her phone back in her car and locking the door, Lerisa approached Clara and the man, who was still holding her closely. "Clara!!" Lerisa called out, recalling how often Clara visited Anthony at work, spending hours with him. Clara looked surprised to see Lerisa, not expecting anyone familiar to be around. The previous night, her best friend had celebrated her birthday, where she met the handsome man with her now. He was charming, and Clara had accepted his offer for a one-night stand. They exchanged contacts, and he had offered her a ride home. Seeing Lerisa's cold stare made Clara panic; she feared Lerisa would inform Anthony. She had told the man she was single, not in a serious relationship. Clara loved Anthony, but she found him too much of a "mummy's boy," always doing what his parents wanted. She was also aware of Anthony's mother's disapproval of her, which was why she didn't want to attend his birthday party at his family's house. Now that she saw Lerisa, Clara knew she had to attend the party, no matter what. "Babe, who’s she?" the man asked, still holding Clara close. Clara turned to face Lerisa, her back against the man’s chest. "I don't know her, babe," Clara replied. "Clara! What do you mean you don't know me?" Lerisa asked incredulously. The man's gaze shifted to Lerisa, admiring her figure, especially her curves. As Lerisa approached, the man’s eyes widened in admiration. The sun illuminated her beauty, making her look beautiful with her blonde hair shining. Clara quickly told him, "Don't listen to her, babe. I don't know who she is. When will you be going home? I need to take a bath." Clara turned back to kiss the man, but Lerisa interrupted, saying, "Since you claim not to know me, Clara, I’m going to tell Anthony. So you're really cheating on him, right?" "Excuse me, young lady! Who's Anthony, and who the hell are you?" Clara yelled, pretending not to recognize Lerisa. Lerisa's jaw dropped, shaking her head in disbelief. "So you don’t know me, Clara? Fine. We shall see." Turning away, Lerisa walked back to her car, not liking how the man was staring at her. She got in, locked the door, and drove off. Clara frowned, still in love with Anthony and his wealth. She said to the man, Remy Creed, "Don’t mind her, babe. I truly don’t know who she is. Imagine her wrongly accusing me." "Hmm..." Remy didn't respond, still watching Lerisa as she drove away. "It's alright. I have to go now. It was a pleasure meeting you, April. We'll chat some other time. Bye." "Okay, bye Remy," Clara said, kissing him goodbye before watching him get into his black car and drive off.
