Playing With Fire

Lilith Lawson is a seventeen year old student who has just finished her Junior year of high school. She was born and raised in New York by her single, Lawyer father. Her father owns his own lawfirm and just as Lilith is starting her last year of high school, decides to expand his company and open up a new branch in California. Instead of waiting for Lilith to finish school in New York, he drags her all the way across the country to become the new girl at Sonoma Valley High. Lilith is determined to make new friends and make the best of her time at the new school but things don't go perfectly as planned unfortunately. Being the new girl is harder than she thought it would be even though she knew it would be difficult. At her old school back in New York, she was a popular girl, in Sonoma- not so much. However she does befriend a girl who is known to usually keep to herself. Not only does she befriend the introverted Erin, she becomes friends with the schools 'freak' Phoenix Fury. He's tall, intimidating, covered in tattoos and hot as HELL. And a mystery waiting to be solved. Since Lilith is the 'new girl' she just so happens to get assigned to the only locker available and that locker is right next to Phoenix's. She soon discovers why it's always vacant. And even though Erin continues to warn her about Phoenix and how everyone seems to be afraid of him, Lilith just can't seem to stay away from him. She talks to him every chance she can get and eventually, Phoenix starts to talk back. With every word spoken between the two of them, the more Lilith's obsession seems to grow. She doesn't care about what anyone has to say about this mysterious guy. She doesn't even care about the warnings that he gives her about himself. She REFUSES to be afraid. Lilith can only accept what Phoenix is willing to share with her about himself- which isn't much, even though they start to hang out almost everyday. Nothing can stop the bond that continues to grow between them, the love that she starts to develop for him. But will he love her back? Can he possibly? Although he warns her not to dig to far into his business and life, she can't seem to stop herself. She wants to know more, she wants to know EVERYTHING. Who is Phoenix Fury, really? Why does he hide behind the label everyone seems to give him, all the things that everyone says. He would rather stay away from everyone that wants to stay away from him. But Lilith won't let her feelings rest, she won't let the warnings get to her. Only time will tell who Phoenix Fury really is- behind his high school student facade. And when Lilith finds out who he really is, WHAT he really is- will she pay the price for digging too deep? Will she suffer for ignoring all warnings. Being the 'new girl' has never been so difficult, not when it could possibly kill you in the end.
