She mourns.
Her life turned to misery at the ‘demise’ of her lover and Karey blames herself, wishing she could have done more. Been more careful, more mindful and, more watchful. Then maybe, maybe she could have saved her lover. Her promise to Rain of forever laying unfulfilled and overshadowed by great lies.
With the news of Rain’s death she’d almost died. The shock too profound and the loss overwhelming. The only flicker in a dark-filled life being her sons. The rays of hope that stirred her out of bed every day, Karey lives with the belief of Rain’s demise that’s until the truth hits her like freight train.
In spite of her bluntness, Lawrence is relentless chasing after Karey purposing to right his wrongs. Fighting tooth and nail to win back the family he’d long lost. Lawrence aches for his wife vowing to do everything and anything for Karey. All to win her heart back. His desperation growing in leaps and bounds with every turn down. His love too great to let Karey go. Rain was long gone and now his time had come.
Rain survives death by a whisker yet the aftermath is far worse. Her life overturned in a matter of days and hard choice. William is adamant and offers an ultimatum which Rain grudgingly accepts. At his orders Rain puts her life and everything concerning CrestView behind her. Not that Karey hadn’t made her choice easier. Rain feels deceived the professor. Her loss far greater than William could ever fathom but she obeys his will which works best for a while.

Despite all of her effort Rain finds herself crossing paths with Karey. Their time apart doing nothing to quell her buried deep need for the older woman. Rain’s unyielding heart leading her into past memories. Drawing Rain to a life she’d promised William never to return to.
Karey and Rain’s love proves a tough opponent to fight even for them. Waging war at the two and to those who try to oppose it. Karey and Rain find each other but their old love proves trying. Particularly with an ex-husband lurking and terrorizing them and an old brother who wouldn’t see reason even if it smacked him square on the face.
