I must have crossed some line that I didn’t even know existed to have warranted such a look from him. I quickly backtracked, not wanting to be in the bad books of the only ally I had in the mansion.
“Did I say something wrong? I’m sorry”. I quickly apologized.
His face lost the fierce look, and he ran his hands through his tight curls, messing them up. “The truth is that he was not always like this. What made him the way he is now, is something that only he can tell you. I can’t talk about it, but I can tell you one thing though.”
Why was he taking such a dramatic pause like he was about to deliver very dire news? I stopped my overactive mind from spinning theories around and waited for him to continue.
