Guardians of the Opal Moon

Chapter 7

On the other side, Jade is so busy being amused by Hunter that she can hardly keep her mind on the job. She is sure some of the middle-aged Lunas are just about to jump the young handsome alpha with golden eyes. She is really wondering if Axel’s actions are looking as suggestive as Hunter’s seem to be. She finally gets serious, after all people will start leaving soon and the rate that people are moving around. Her eyes are drawn to a mop of blonde hair attached to a young, tall, handsome man.

Jade can’t help but wonder what it is about gorgeous blonde hair that is attracting her attention today. She is nearly at the end of her section when she caught sight of them. After Ava and Hunter, she decides it is best to just follow her gut instinct. None of these others around are catching her attention, there are just so many faces that they are just blurring into one so when Jade is able to actually take a moment and focus on someone she will follow her instincts completely. After looking again at Hunter who is heading toward his last lot, Jade walks toward the couple.

After their less than subtle make out session, they are both raring to go. Alexis looks around sneakily, Lucas just looks at her smiling. Alexis tries to act calm as she says.

“I think this is winding down. We probably should leave”

Lucas tips her chin so that she is looking up into his eyes.

“Why do you want to leave? What are you planning on doing?”

He tries to keep his voice indifferent and level but there is a tinge of a laugh that works its way into it. Alexis hits his hand away.

“Never mind what I am going to do, if you don’t shut up, you may not be included”

Lucas wraps his arms around her waist, pulling her tight to his body, pressing his manhood against her.

“If I am not included, can I at least watch?”

“Hell no, your smug face might wreck my high”

“How could you even get there without seeing this handsome face?”

“Haven’t you noticed that I like to close my eyes? If you were nice you would put a paper bag over your head so I could just look at that hot body”

Lucas laughs as he buries his face into the nape of her neck, his large tanned hand reaching up inside her shirt running up her back sending shivers down her spine, her head falls back as her back arches, pressing her body firmly against his. He extends his claws, digging them deep into her soft flesh. It takes every shred of her willpower to stop moaning so loud that the whole place will know what they are up to. Alexis buries her face into his strong chest to muffle the sound to the point that it is inaudible.

Lucas is the first one to notice that they are not alone. He releases Alexis slightly as he faces Jade, nodding slightly at her in a show of respect. Alexis comes back to her senses, nearly laughing when she realises that they were nearly busted. Jade looks over the two with an amused expression on her face, there was no nearly, they were totally busted, the smell of blood is as clear as day and, as much as Alexis thought she muffled the moan, Jade still heard it.

Jade looks from the man to the woman, they are both giving off a strong aura. She extends her hand straight to Alexis, Alexis puts her hand in Jade’s. Jade doesn’t even shake her hand, just gripping her hand and turning it to the side before directly pulling up Alexis’ sleeve to reveal her mark. Jade is not sure why she just knew that this girl was going to have a mark. Alexis is shocked by Jade's abruptness, which instantly causes her foul mouth to fire. The words have fallen before her brain can even comprehend.

"What the f*ck are you doing?"

Lucas looks at Alexis, with a slight smile and a small shake of his head, just tightening his arm that is around her waist. He knows her mouth all too well. What Jade has done is a surprise, so he isn’t surprised about what Alexis said. Anyway, no matter what he supports everything she says.

Jade looks up in Alexis’ blue-gray eyes, a slight smile in her eyes. She can not remember the last person to speak so frankly to her. Most people are scared so she can’t help being slightly amused by the reaction. She, of course, has no interest in explaining, just saying simply.

"Come with me, both of you"

Alexis and Lucas shrug even though they had much more interesting things on their agenda, they see no harm in following. Jade links Axel.

'Axel I found one, we are done. Meet us in the meeting room'

Jade casts a glance at Hunter, he nods and happily follows. After all, he has hated every minute of this task. After a few offers of s*x and a couple of offers of threesomes with Alpha and Luna pairs, he couldn’t be more over it. He follows Jade and the other two that she has managed to find.

In the meeting room, sitting around a large table sit four couples that are complete strangers. Just one thing ties them all together and that is a strange marking on their arms. The room is silent as each one of them sizes up the others in the room, the power radiating around the room is so much that even Jasper, who has been observing in the corner and is used to being around Axel and Jade all the time, can’t control the shiver running through his wolf, he excuses himself and gets out of the room before he ends up embarrassing himself and ending up bowed down for no reason at all, there is no way that, that much power should be in such a confined space.

Axel sits next to Jade. After scrutinizing the wolves around the table, he finally clears his throat.

"Now I know this sounds strange, but can everyone please lift their sleeves."

Everyone around the table has no idea why they are here except for one fact. They were bought here after the mark on their arms was revealed, so naturally they all move to expose the marks on their arms.

Alina, Phoenix, Alexis and Lucas who have come in with zero information, are surprised when they look around the room and find that others have the same mark as them, identical down to the last detail.

"Before we start, does anyone have any idea what they mean?"

Each of them is still confused, so they all just do a dumbfounded shake of the head, they all may have the mark, but no one has any idea what it means.

"I do"

A sweet flowing voice comes from the corner of the room, a lady with a long white dress, white hair and ice blue eyes is standing in the corner, looking lovingly over the eight in the room, as if she were looking at her own children, the ladies age is indiscernible. Anyone can tell that she is old, wisdom seems to seep from her pores, yet her skin is pale and flawless without the slightest wrinkle. Jade says.

"Who are you?"

Lucas looks at the lady who seems to have no intention of speaking and then around at the room at all the confused faces. He of course, knows the answer because he has already. He can’t help but be nervous. After all, the last time he saw her he made the most important decision of his life, something that shaped his entire life trajectory. He has selfishly never regretted his decision, but at some point it nearly cost Alexis her life. It was also a very hard soul-searching experience, throwing away everything he thought he wanted, throwing away rationality, everything he had grown up believing, the values his mother had taught him, all of it disappeared in that single moment.

As Lucas looks at the woman again, he can’t help but feel his heart clench. She wouldn’t be here for no reason, he can only assume this is bigger than he ever could have anticipated. Lucas opens his mouth and says the words that everyone has been waiting for.

"Moon goddess"

Even though a slight element of surprise radiates around the room, everyone had the slightest inkling to the fact, because how did this random woman suddenly appear in a closed room without anyone noticing and just the look of her, her whole body just screams goddess.

Alexis is the only one to take her eyes off the woman and look over at Lucas with shock. He said it with such certainty like he knew, but he has never mentioned a word about it to her. Alexis knows this is not the time but she just wants to dive into his head and see what secrets he is hiding in there.

Lucas looks back at Alexis, casting her a sly smile. He has never told her because he didn’t think it was necessary to tell her, it might just make her mad, but now it is known he has no intention of hiding it.

‘We will talk about it later’

Alexis casts him a worried glance and then concentrates back on the woman. Jade takes the reins since everyone has somehow become collectively mute.

"Moon goddess, very honored to meet you, sorry you know what these mean?"

The moon goddess smiles like she has heard a funny joke. There is not much in the werewolf world that can happen without her knowing about it.

"Of course I do, I placed them there"
