Finding My Forever Love

Harley My name is Harley Aspen McGummery. I have a twin brother named Henley David McGummery. Were the outcasts of our family. We have been since we were kids, but weren't able to move out untill we were 18. When we were kids something happened to piss off my mom and dad and they started to be mean to the both of us. I dont remember what happened. But i do remember that we had someone else that lived with us for awhile. He was a member of our family one day and then gone the next. I only seen him one time after that, and not since. My brother and I have always been close and tell each other everything. I dont know what id do without him. For the longest time, I was the only one who knew he was gay. When our family finally found out our dad flipped out. He tried to kick him out when he was 15 and because of that, I threatened to move out of the house too. I have always stuck by my brother, and always will. We ended up being allowed to stay untill we graduated high school at 18. After graduating from high school we were determined that we were not going to let our parents and other brothers get to us. So we both took off for college. We both went to a university. Henley went for 4 years for his master's in criminology and criminal justice. He then went to the police academy for 2 years and came out a deputy and it wasn't long untill he was a sergeant. I went to university for a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and an RN degree for 3 years. We were both lucky and got scholarships to help pay for school. I also worked a part-time job so I could afford housing. I was also double majoring in school, I was taking my nursing classes and art classes. I wanted to be a nurse, but I also loved art. I loved to draw and was really good at it also. With everything on my plate, I managed to make straight A's in school and work almost every day. We started out living in Boston. That's where we grew up and even where we went to college at. After Henley graduated from college, he moved out to Chicago Illinois to go to the police academy. We have six other brothers, and the oldest ones wouldn't stop making fun of him for being gay. Even though I'm pretty sure Robert John the third boy in line is gay but he wouldn't come out. Im sure its because he didnt want to dissapoint out dad like they say that Henley did. They all suck giant harry balls for making him feel less than, because hes not. Henley and I were apart for 4 years before I finally packed up and moved out to Chicago with him. I started working at the local hospital after I had four years of college and continued working there after I graduated from college. Henley and I both flew out to watch each other graduate and we kept in touch by phone and video chat. At first the calls were everyday and the video calls once a week. It ended up being one call a week and no videos right before i moved out there with him. He wanted me to move out after I graduated but I had been in a relationship for a couple of years and even though things weren't great I didn't just want to leave him, at first. Things with Preston were great in the beginning until the abuse started. Things at his work got worse and he started taking it out on me. He also wanted me to marry him an makeup to my family and forget all about my twin brother because my family had money and he wanted it. I wasn't about to turn my back on my twin, and I wouldn't make up to my family because of what they did to him. So, I kept refusing to marry him or move into his place. Things got really bad one night and I ended up in the hospital from him beating me so bad, all because he lost his job. My dad and oldest brother were both cops and had shown up when they got called. I was afraid that they wouldn't help me but thankfully they did. Preston took off and they couldn't find him. They searched for him for a long time. I even had the cops driving past my place all of the time. And they still didnt catch him. So, I contacted Henley and after I got released from the hospital, I packed up all my stuff and moved to Chicago to live with my twin. He never did find out what happened or why i wanted to move to live with him. All he knows is that my boyfriend and i broke up and i wanted a new start in life. Im hoping that by moving out here with my brother, that my life will get better. As of right now, i see a psychologist every week to help me through the trama of what ive been through. Some days its hard and i want to give up but i never will. I know that things will get better and ill eventually be able to move on and find love. I just hope that the next time i give my heart to someone they dont try to use me or abuse me. I hope that they will love me for me. Until then im going to work my ass off at my new job. And try to eventually make some friends. I cant always be afraid of my shadow because of him. I plan to take it just one day at a time though. And live my life the best that i can. Let's just hope that my life starts getting better for myself and my brother.
