"Is this our room?"
The hotel we're staying in is quite fancy. So, it took a while for us to find our room. Because we stupidly didn't look at the sign on the ceiling that's telling us where to go. As usual, map blindness is something that is particularly common for gamers... Anyway, after we reach our room, I open it with the key that we have been given...
Then... The moment I open the door and put the key in the key holder.
"Boo!"
"UWAAH!!!"
Michi screams her heads off while I immediately went to move and strike down the assailant. I grabbed the key out of the key holder and immediately throw it toward the assailant face. I lowered my body and immediately dashed forward to take his leg down...
"Uwah! Wait up!"
But, instead of taking him down, I uppercut him from point blank without pulling my arm back. A hit to the chin would be wonderful. But he blocked my attack with his hand. Very impressive for a normal assailant. Since he blocked my attack with his left hand, it leaves his left side open. So, I swing my right leg toward his leg to knock him down.
Once again, he managed to see my move and then put his arm toward his leg. But all of that was a feint from me. I immediately strike him down with a left hand straight toward his chin. A left hook from point blank.
"Mr... Shiro..."
Then I heard his voice properly on the darkness...
"Isn't that... Tywin?"
"Ah shoot... That's bad..."
I put the key that I threw back to its key holder and see that Tywin is passed out on the floor. I mean, he's a guy with well built body, so it's not hard to see how he can anticipate all of my moves. But, to think that he's out from just one punch from me is definitely surprising.
"Well, let's just throw him out for now."
Since it's also his fault, Michi decided that it's probably better for us to throw him out so that we can actually start to prepare to do stuff...
I put Tywin out in the hallway and the cleaning lady sees that. I look at her with 'Take him out' like he's some sort of trash. The lady just smiled lightly and awkwardly...
I lock the door so that Tywin won't do anything stupid again and went into the bedroom. When I enter the bedroom. I notices something different. On the corner of the room. There's something that Michi purposefully ignore.
It's some sort of capsule with tons of cable on the back...
"Ah, I don't know what that is. I look around it for a bit and doesn't understand a single thing... It looks like some sort of capsule that provide good sleep though..."
"Well... It might be that... But..."
The capsule is indeed looking like a capsule for deep sleep. But, if it's for that... Why did I feel like something is not right with this capsule if it's for deep sleep?
There's too many electronics part for it to be a deep sleep capsule... It looks like... A VR machine...
Then it hits me...
"Maybe... MAYBE!"
I rushed back to the front door and opened it immediately.
"I knew you would open it soon enough and it is for the reason I suspected. The machine. Right?"
"Tywin. It seems like you know what I'm thinking huh."
"Well of course! I've been observing you for a long time after all. Care to join me to the underground facility for a moment? There's something that I want to show you."
"Sure. Michi! You want to come too?"
"I'm staying out of this one. I want to rest up for now. I'll heard what you have to say later on!"
"Alright."
With that, I started walking with Tywin.
"As you expect, that Machine is indeed a VR machine. We have developed a brand new type of VR machine. From just a headset, to a full body machine. We call it the Deep Dive Machine."
"Deep Dive Machine? Is it really that necessary to develop a brand new machine just to play Eclipse Online? I know that this project is a very ambitious project. But I don't think that it's that ambitious."
"Well, It might seems that normal VR headset is enough to support Eclipse Online. But VR headset is not a device that utilize all of your potential properly. The signal it received only comes from the head. People like you, who utilize all of your body to perfection, will only be hindered with that. Since you can see the best possible way to move, but your body cannot keep up because the system is overloaded..."
Yeah, I know about that issue for a while now. That's why it's hard for people like me to thrive in games. In real life, we can easily makes all of the micro movement needed to adjust to any situation. But in real life, we can't really use our game power. While we can use our real life ability to a certain extent, we cannot make that adjustment that is needed when fighting because it will overload the system and hinder the movement by point of seconds.
People like Rio knows that too. Dion, I don't know. But Rio definitely know about that.
"Then, are you saying that Deep Dive Machine is going to allow all information that's going on from our body to be directly transferred to the game without any delay?"
"Pretty much. With better technology, the Deep Dive System allows all of your movement that you thought of without any delay. With much wider coverage from the device, it's not just your head that the information is taken. But your whole body. Meaning, you can be, the best you that you always thought of, OneSec."
My heart goes racing pretty fast... I grip my hand with a lot of power that my nails broke and digs into my own flesh...
"Are you saying... That my unlimited potential is going to be shown through this device?"
"It is indeed."
After we talk about that... I realized that we have arrived at the underground facility that Tywin has talk about earlier... He put his card into the machine and then the door opened up...
"Welcome, OneSec... To Project, True Eclipse."
Tons of Deep Dive Machine has been set up in a massive room. Many people are working to keep the system going so that there's no malfunction happening in such a large scale... I take a look around this interesting place and then realize what Tywin is saying...
"You have started one crazy project. Tywin."
"Well, it's not me who started this project. But you'll know who started it soon enough."
Now, this is what I call interesting stuff... I'm glad to have come to this meet up. It's not as boring as I thought it is...
