43 - Gone

1528 Words

For a very long time, King Théoden just stood in the empty balcony, looking down from the balustrade and staring at the dried up blood on the ground. He still can’t believe that the love of his life is now gone. How can she be gone? He thought as his heart ached at his loss. We were just talking the night before, right? It can’t be right. We were supposed to marry the next lunar month. She was supposed to be my queen. How can that be?  The crowd of servants and soldiers and onlookers have already dispersed slowly, many among them were teary, leaving him the sight empty. General Dagen and his wife were hysterical and the wife later on collapsed. With sorrow and worry, the great general went to cater his wife’s need while also trying to accept the fact that their daughter is already gone.
