Kyle had just wanted to walk around the neighborhood, not far away. But as Kyle kept thinking, he went over the hill into the woods before he knew it. By the time Kyle recovered, he had lost his way. Kyle took out his cell phone, tried to find his way back to the camp, but only to find his cell phon had died. Now, whether to wait for someone to rescue him, or try to walk around to find a way, Kyle hesitated.
Thunder began to rumble in the distance. Kyle looked up at the sky. The clouds had covered the stars, and it looked as though it was going to rain.
"It could be a bad idea if I am waiting like this. I'll try to find my way back." Kyle said to himself.
But as soon as he walked, Kyle felt his foot drop, and he lost his balance. He fell into a huge pit and lost consciousness before he knew it. When he woke up, it was all dark except for a small patch of light overhead. His ankle sprained, and the pain was excruciating. Kyle tried to move but could not. His arms and legs were also scratched and stained with blood, which caused by debris from branches as he fell. Kyle supported himself with one leg while his arms fumbled around, trying to identify his surroundings. After a while, he realized that he had fallen into a trap set by the hunters.
Kyle tried several times to climb out of the trap but failed. It's too deep and steep. It's not a trap for an ordinary person to escape, not to mention that Kyle is now wounded. Kyle sighed as he leaned back against the wall and looked up at the stars overhead. Had it rained? Kyle must have been in a coma for a long time after he fell into the trap. Kyle wondered if Aldo worried about him and looked for him.
"What am I thinking? How could he be nervous about a so-called friend with benefits?" Kyle tried to laugh at himself. He felt like a fool. Kyle traveled from Tokyo to New York to find the truth of Gino's death but messed with Aldo.
Kyle approached Aldo just to find out the truth about his brother's death at first. But the investigation has not made any progress. Kyle and Aldo are stuck in an ambiguous relationship. Now Kyle has fallen into a hunter's trap accidentally, where he could die without anyone knowing it.
"I am dying." The idea gave Kyle a sense of relief. He had never lived a single moment for himself but to meet other people's expectations. Kyle has took too much expectation and responsibility, from his grandfather, from the whole Fujiwara family.
Kyle began to remember the first time he met Aldo. He was playing the piano in the dim light of the restaurant, and people like a glittering prince surrounded Aldo. Kyle designed the restaurant meeting and the cemetery encounter, but he was obsessed with Aldo before his plan was completed. Kyle thought it's was ridiculous. The last thing he thought about before he died was Aldo, the guy who said he was just a friend with benefits.
"Kyle, Kyle, can you hear me? Where are you?"
Kyle heard a faint voice calling to him overhead. Has he lost too much blood and begun to hallucinate? Why did he think it was Aldo's voice? Kyle tried to stay awake, making sure he wasn't hallucinating and that it was Aldo's voice overhead.
"Here I am! In the trap!" Kyle yelled at the mouth of the cave overhead with all his strength.
"Kyle, is that you? Where are you?"
"It's me. I'm in the trap!"
Aldo followed the sound and used his flashlight to find the trap nearby. He shone a light at the bottom of the hole and finally saw Kyle injured against the wall.
'Please wait. I'll come and rescue you in a minute! Aldo took off his coat and tried to use it to pull Kyle up.
"Don't waste your time. Call for help."
When Aldo heard Kyle's words, he realized that the first thing he should do is call for help. Aldo was so mad that he almost jumped in with Kyle.
After Aldo called, he had to lie beside the trap and wait for the rescue team to arrive. The two boys looked up and down at each other for a moment. Then Aldo said suddenly, "I'm going to jump!"
"Are you crazy?" Kyle couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"I can't wait. I want to see if you're safe."
"You'll get yourself hurt. Please stay where you are."
"I'll be careful." Aldo didn't wait for Kyle to stop him before sliding slowly down the wall of the trap.
"Be careful. You're crazy, Aldo!"
Aldo didn't listen. He went down into the trap in his own way.
"Are you out of your mind? " Kyle looked into Aldo's face in the dark and said, "Do you know that if the rescuers don't find this place, we could both die here."
"No, God can't be so cruel." Aldo moved closer to Kyle. "Well, let me take a look at your wounds."
Kyle had nothing to say but was at Aldo's mercy.
"Does it hurt?" Aldo checked each wound, and when his ankle is touched, Kyle gasped. Aldo pressed the wounds with care, and Kyle bited his lower lip in pain.
"It looks like a dislocation of the joint..." Aldo said to himself, "We'll have to wait until the rescue team arrives. If you can't stand the pain, you can bite me."
"It doesn't matter. I'm used to it. I've been hurt ten thousand times more than this." Kyle thought back to growing up in Fujiwara. It was nothing compared to all that.
Aldo looked quietly at Kyle, his face lit by the moon, cold and deep, like a masterpiece of embroidery from the far East. The two boys sat silent for a long time before Kyle suddenly said, "It is such a great opportunity. Don't you want to know why I'm approaching you in purpose?"
Aldo smiled, then found a comfortable position and lay down with his hands folded behind his head.
"I don't want to know it. And I don't need to know it. Why you're near me is just your business. But I am willing to have something to do with you."
Kyle reached down and stroked Aldo's handsome face gently with his palm.
Kyle said, with a slight quiver in his voice, "If we hadn't met by conspiracy. How wonderful that would be."
It was the first time Aldo had seen Kyle confide in him. It was a far cry from Kyle's usual cocky face. Kyle was a pain in the neck like a wounded cat now .
Aldo took Kyle's hand over his face and held it to his lips for a gentle kiss. "I don't care who you are or what our relationship is. All I know is that right now, I just want you by my side. "
Kyle's uneasy became less at his words. And even his hard turned heart softened. He interlocked his fingers with Aldo's, feeling the warmth and security of his palm.
"May I rest my head on your lap?" Aldo rubbed his hair against Kyle's leg. Kyle looked at him with a slight surprise. Was this spoiled brat flirting with him?
"May I? Please?" Aldo continued to rub up against him.
Kyle couldn't help laughing. He put Aldo's head on his lap and ran his fingers gently through Aldo's silky, shiny blond hair. Aldo looked at Kyle too, reaching out and stroking Kyle's beautiful eyes, nose, and mouth.
"I've always wanted to ask you a question. Are you from a Japanese family?" Aldo asked suddenly, gazing into Kyle's eyes.
"Why do you ask me about this question?" Kyle was surprised, too. "Because my last name is Fujiwara? Or am I always appearing in traditional Japanese dress?"
Aldo thought for a moment and replied, "Yes, but not exactly."
"What do you mean? " Kyle asked him.
"You look like a pretty boy I knew, but there is some differences."
Kyle's heart suddenly tugged at Aldo's words. Is Aldo talking about his brother Gino? But Kyle didn't ask him directly. Instead, he asked tentatively, "Do you still have any contact with the boy who looks like me?"
Aldo smiled sadly. "He's gone to heaven."
"He..." Kyle's voice trembled. "What's his relationship to you?"
In fact, what Kyle was trying to ask was: did you kill him? But he was afraid to ask, for fear of hearing the answer he was scared to hear.
"What is our relationship? He has nothing to do with me. We are just friends." Aldo thought for a moment. "He always belonged to someone else."
“Who?”
"He's my brother's lover," Aldo said slowly. "That's all."
