Adeline's eyes fluttered open, and she let out a small grunt of pain. There was a sharp pain on her neck, and she gave a small hiss as she tried to move. Her body felt stiff, her right fingers somehow stiffer, and it all made for some of the worst combination she had ever been subject to. She closed her eyes and sighed before she opened them again, then slowly started to look around. The first thing she saw, on her right, was Lucan. His hair was a wavy mess, and he was asleep, his fingers tightly holding hers, hence the stiffness. She moved a little, but there was something in his face, the lack of rest, the bags underneath his eyes, it had her wondering just how long she had been asleep for. Slowly, she pushed herself to sit with great effort, then turned to Lucan again. His lips were
