13| Anna.

Anna’s POV

I was at the Ikoyi gym, using the treadmill when I sighted this really hot, handsome, dark skinned and built guy. He was the man of my dreams.

I stared at him for a very long time and when his eyes caught mine, i quickly looked away and continued running on the treadmill.

“Hello, miss.” I heard a voice say, after few seconds.

I turned my head to look at who it was, and behold, it was the same guy I was staring at moments ago.

I was so startled, that I almost fell from the treadmill, but he supported me. It looked like a romantic scene in movies.

I came down from the treadmill, blushing so hard.

“Hi.” Was all I could utter.

“My name is Nathan. What’s yours?” He asked.

“A-a-na.” I stammered.

“Why did you stammer Anna? Do I look scary?”

He was far from being scary. In-fact, he was the direct opposite of scary. He had the face of an Angel.

“No, that is not it. I was just surprised.” I said.

He nodded his head, then said “So Anna, Can I take you out tonight?”

He was so bold, and I liked that.

“I’m down. where do you want to take me to?” I said shyly.

“A nice place. What’s your house address? so I could pick you up.” He asked.

“Number 62 Aluba street Ikoyi.” I said quickly. I couldn’t believe I just gave a total stranger my house address, but I couldn’t let go of him.

“See you tonight.” he said, with a smile on his face. His voice was so gentle.

We exchanged contacts and departed.

When I got home, I was so tired so I slept for 7 hours.

I woke up around 5pm, to the sound of my phone ringing.

When I looked at my screen, Nathan’s name flashed on it. I jumped up immediately and picked up.

“Hello Anna, it’s Nathan. Was just wondering if you’d still be okay with going out with me.” He said.

“Why not? I’d be so glad.” I said, without hesitation.

“Number 62 Aluba street Ikoyi right?” He asked to confirm the address.

“Correct.” I confirmed it.

“I’d be there by 7” he said and ended the call.

After the phone conversation, I took my bath and wore an orange evening dress, with white shoes and clutch to match.

Just as I was about to step out of my house, Nathan’s call came in.

“Hello pretty, I am outside.” He said over the phone.

“I will be right there.” I assured him.

When I went outside, Nathan’s car was parked in front of my house. I opened the car door and entered his car.

“You look stunning.” Nathan complemented.

“Thank you.” I said and blushed.

He drove down to shinara restaurant and bar.

“I can see that you have a great taste.” I said, as he pulled inside the parking lot.

“Why did you say that?” He asked.

“The food here is great. I come here a lot.” I said excitedly.

“Oh, so you are a regular here.” He asked.

“Yes, I come here so regularly that the waiters here know me.” I admitted.

“Oh, really?” He said, with a raised brow.

All of sudden, before I could reply, he turned on the ignition of his car and started driving.

“We are not eating here anymore?”. I asked. I was so surprised at his sudden change of mind.

“I don’t like attention.” He said.

I didn’t understand what he meant by that, but I decided to just let it go.

“So where are we going?” I asked.

“We’ll see.” He said and continued driving.

Shortly after, he parked in front of a small restaurant that it’s sign board said “sweet treat restaurant.”

I wondered why he took us to that small restaurant for our first date. Was it actually a date? I thought. I doubted if the food there was actually good.

“Although the restaurant is small but the food here is really delicious.” He said, clearing my doubt. And I couldn’t wait to see for myself.

We hopped out of the car and walked inside the restaurant.

“What would you like to eat?” A waiter asked, as he led us to an empty table.

“I’ll have fried rice and chicken. What about you Anna?” Nathan asked, with a smile on his face.

“I’ll have fried rice and chicken too.” I said.

“It will be ready in a minute.” The waiter assured us, before he disappeared.

The waiter came back in three minutes with our food.

“That was fast.” I said, as I stared at the food in front of us.

“We don’t waste our customer’s time here.” He boasted and we all laughed.

“I’ll pay when we are done eating.” Nathan told the waiter.

“Okay sir, enjoy your food.” The waiter said and left.

Nathan and I started digging in our food and I was reminded by the taste of the food, never to judge a book by its cover. Never again! Because the food was so delicious that I couldn’t even stop shoving food into my mouth.

“Do you enjoy the food that much?” Nathan asked and I felt embarrassed. He must have noticed how I was savoring the food.

I let out a shy smile and said “yes.”

There was a little silence after that, before Nathan broke the silence and said, “tell me about yourself Anna.”

I usually get confused whenever I am asked that question. I know I’m being asked about myself but I tend to forget who I was whenever that question pops. But, I managed to pull something together.

“Well, as you already know, my name is Anna, I am 25 and I an accountant at Jumbo intl.”

“Are you single?” Nathan asked.

“Yes.” I said, as i picked up a glass of water to drink.

He looked at me in the eyes and said “I know I’m being too forward. But when I see what I want, I know. Would you mind if I change that for you? Be my woman Anna”

I choked on the water I was drinking. The water spilled everywhere, so I quickly tried to wipe it off with the towel on the table. But, the waiter had noticed what happened and rushed to our table to help out.

Nathan waited for the waiter to go before he continued “what I said just now, did it surprise you that much? Are you not interested in me?”

I wondered why would think I wasn’t interested in him, when his words melted my heart. Who wouldn’t be interested in him? He is rich, hot and handsome. He is every woman’s dream man and I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by.

So, I looked at him and said “I know it’s too early to do this but if you promise to not break my heart, why not? I’ll be your woman”

Nathan smiled and said “thank you for giving me a chance.” and we both laughed.

After we finished our food, he waved his hands at the waiter and signaled the waiter to come.

When the waiter came, Nathan paid the bill and tipped the waiter.

He reached out for my hand and said “let’s get going babe.”

When we stood up, he held me by my waist and we walked out of the restaurant.

When we got to where the car was parked, Nathan looked at me in the eyes, tightened his grip around my waist, and drew me closer him.

He hugged me so tightly, as he sucked my neck before moving to my ear. The whole thing sent chills down my spine. He placed his lips on mine and kissed me passionately. It was magical!
