Chapter 2

Last night was stressful and I’m worried about how Michele is going to be with me today. He seemed really pissed off that I didn’t want to have s*x last night, even though he said he understood. I feel like he was just saying that so he doesn’t start another argument between us. On the other hand, he might have needed to process my feelings by himself. I know that if he had done that to me I would have been embarrassed and confused. I’m probably just reading too much into this and making it worse in my head.  I walked out into the garden, wearing a different coloured gym outfit to yesterday but the type of clothing was the same. After finding out about Marcelo, Michele and Nico agreed to make training a daily routine. If I was going to stand a chance at defending myself should I be caught on my own, I needed to train as much as I could.  Nico was standing there in a pair of grey tracksuit bottoms with his torso completely bare. I saw him more as a brotherly figure, but I couldn’t deny that his body was completely flawless. I couldn’t get my head around the fact he was never with a woman, surely he must have plenty of girls running after him with a body like that.  “Ready?” He asked, standing in an offensive position. I parted my legs and bent them slightly to prepare myself. “Ready”. He went to grab me using his right hand and I stepped back to dodge, gripping his wrist in the process and twisting it behind his back. He groaned at the sudden positioning of his arm and then chuckled. After letting go he regained his starting position.  “Good” he praised.  He repeated the same motion but then lunged and gripped my neck with his left, countering my dodge and kicking his leg round to unlock my knee, causing me to drop to the floor. He didn’t let go of my neck as he knelt on my thighs to restrain me.  “You need to think about how I am going to retaliate to your defence. That way the enemy doesn’t have any chance of outsmarting you” he advised.  He let go of my neck and held his hand out to help me up. I smirked at him and went to reach for it and then swung my leg into his, making him drop to my level suddenly. I pushed him onto his front and put him into a head lock, chuckling with accomplishment.  “I didn’t teach you that” he strained from the pressure on his throat.  “What do you think I do all day, play with my hair?” I mocked. I let go and stood up, watching him raise himself up from the ground.  “I’ll take it from here!” Michele called out as he made his way over.  When I looked over at him, I couldn’t help but stare. He too was shirtless, the early sunlight hitting against the dips in his abs as he strolled over to us. He had black baggy track suit bottoms on and black trainers. His hair was neatly swept back effortlessly, making it harder to look away from his flawless facial features. He raised the corner of his mouth at me as he approached which gave me butterflies in the pit of my stomach.  “Could you see if our little rat is ready to talk yet?” He asked Nico without taking his eyes off of me.  “Want me to prod him a little?” Nico asked with a sinister tone.  “Why not?” Michele replied with a grin on his face, finally averting from my eyes.  Nico walked over to the table and grabbed his water and towel. As he dabbed his face, he made his way over to the outhouse, leaving me and Michele alone. He ran his fingers through his hair and started to circle around me, trying to intimidate and distract me.  “You’re not mad at me then?” I asked, standing in the same spot, analysing his every move so I was ready if he decided to lunge towards me.  “Why would I be mad?”  “You seemed angry last night” I replied.  Michele’s movement began to tense up and I prepared myself, recognising the change in his body language. Once he was behind me, he reached towards me to grab my hair, tangling his fingers into my high pony tail and pulling me towards him.  “There are a lot of pathetic men in the world Amelia, I’m not one of them. If you don’t want to f**k then I’m not going to force you” he said in his deep voice.  His breath tickled my cheek and I lowered my gaze, trying to maintain control over my emotions. I threw my elbow back into his stomach to wind him, resulting in the release of his grip. He jolted backwards and I turned around with a smug look on my face. “That’s the one thing that I don’t have to worry about with you...” I began. He raised his head and made eye contact, looking slightly impressed by my retaliation.  “...you have more respect for me” I finished. Michele stood up straight and chuckled.  “You think I do it out of respect?”.  I narrowed my gaze with confusion and he tackled me to the ground. I landed on my back and groaned as I hit the floor. He sat on top of me and restrained my wrists, pinning them against the grass. He leant down, inches from my face and grinned.  “It’s not exactly fun when the person you want to f**k is resisting you, it kind of ruins the moment”. I remember what Nico taught me yesterday when he was in a similar position. I bent my knees, managing to move him slightly and pushed up. Once he wobbled off balance, I rolled and threw him off of me. I stood over him and giggled. “You know; that would probably work with anyone else, but I know there is a part of you who prides himself on respecting women” I stated. He jumped up to his feet and stepped close to me, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me to him.  “Only when it comes to you” he replied in a hushed tone.  He pressed his lips against mine without hesitation, dominating against me as our lips moved in sync. When he pulled away, he tucked a loose strand behind me ear. “I have something to give you” he said, rummaging in his pocket.  I felt on edge, expecting it to be a distraction for him to try and strike me again, but it wasn’t. He pulled out a folded up piece of paper and handed it to me. I lowered my brows and took the paper from his hand. I opened it and read the title which was typed in big bold writing. It was a deed to a bar down the road, just on the outskirts of town. It was the one closest to Michele’s house and his and Nico’s signatures were at the bottom. The deed was signed over to me, making me the owner of the bar. My eyes widened and flicked up to Michele. “What?!” I barked in disbelief.  “I was planning on telling you about this roughly a month ago but then you went missing and things got a bit... messy between us. You were right yesterday, we do need to work through whatever is thrown at us which is why I thought that now was the right time to give you this, it allows you to have more freedom and a focus on...”  I interrupted him by wrapping my arms around his neck and squeezing him tightly. The fact he has bought me a bar was surprising enough, but I was more shocked at the statement he was making. To allow someone to be involved in the Don’s businesses with such a high status shows complete trust and respect. This was his way of showing me how much he trusted me and gave me a sense of what I meant to him. It was rare for a woman, especially of my age to be a part of the money making side of things in a professional manner. “Thank you” I whispered and kissed him gently.
