Sofie's POV-
"Sofie! Come down fast! How long are gonna take?" My father shouts from downstairs.
"Coming! Just two minutes!" I shout back, loud enough for him to hear. Today we are moving from here to live in Los Angeles, California, America. There we are gonna live, where Mom and Dad first used to live, near their best friends. Isn't it amazing? I mean I wouldn't have to go far away from my father.
I come down and after we eat some light food, we leave towards the airport.

We reach the airport and the captain greets us, "Good Morning Mr Gill, Miss Gill."
"Good Morning, Liam. Are we ready to take off?" My dad asks after greeting him while I just nod at him, smiling. And yep! You guessed it right! We are taking my father's private jet. "Come on Soff, get in." He says and we make our way inside the jet. The air hostess gets us drinks and after the jet takes off, I decide to get some sleep in one of the rooms. Hmm, let's take some sleep before meeting my in-laws, hehe it sounds so funny.
***
"Get up Soff, we are here." I hear my father's voice and get up as he continuously keeps shaking me.
"Yeah, are we here?" I ask with my voice groggy due to sleep.
"Yes, and now get up, wash your face and meet me outside." He says kissing my forehead. I nod and after washing my face, I move out feeling fresh. We move out and make our way inside one of my father's luxurious cars, starting our journey towards Miller mansion.
***
The guard opens the door to Miller mansion and boy! It’s amazing!
My dad wanted to meet his best friends before going to our mansion and so, we are here.
We move out of the car and find Uncle George and aunt Carolina already standing before the door, waiting for us. Their mansion too is of traditional style like ours back in London and here too, but I loveeeee... modern architecture.
I smile at both of them as me and my father makes our way towards them. Uncle George though is of my father's age but is fit just like my father. He has casual clothes on, unlike my father who has formal clothes on. Aunt Carolina is smiling so wide, it makes her face glow even more and she looks younger. She has a beautiful teal colour one-piece long dress on and she looks gorgeous.
"So, you finally decided to show up now, huh?" Uncle George says hugging my dad, who chuckles returning the hug. I smile at them and turn my head to look at aunt Carolina whom I find already watching me with a sweet smile on her lips and soft eyes.
"Hello, aunt Carolina." I greet her but she suddenly pulls me in for a hug. To say I was startled is no justice, because, I mean, her hugging me isn't something unexpected because everybody does that but it was just too sudden.
"Oh my baby, you've grown up to such a beautiful woman. You are just as beautiful as your mother, actually even more." She says chuckling.
"Well, of course, she is my best friend's daughter after all." Uncle George says. She pulls her arms from around me and pulls away. I look at Uncle George and walk to him, "Hello, Uncle George. You are nothing like how dad described you, you are so fit." I say.
"Ah... your father is just jealous of me. You know your mum used to talk a lot about me to him and he used to get so frustrated and now I'm guessing he still isn't over me." He says chuckling and pulling me in for a hug. "You've really grown up to a beautiful woman, just as my best friend." He again says. "But don't worry, now that you are here, I'll let you know all the good things about me that I'm sure your father must not have told you." We all chuckle and make our way inside the mansion.
"I told her a lot about you, I mean the real you, but then she started taking interest a lot in knowing about you, every day she asked me to call you and yeah I was jealous." My dad finally admits.
"Well, you at least admitted that the real me is a very good and amazing person." Uncle George says and we enter the living room chuckling. The living room consists of a fireplace on one side with a handloom carpet spread on the wooden floor. The sofas were across the fireplace. We all sit and engage in our talks, catching up with each other enjoying the drinks and welcoming sweets presented by the maids.
"Well, I have good news." My dad says and we all look at him waiting for the news and by the way he looked at me with a soft smile on his face, I knew what good news he is talking about." Sofie has happily agreed to the marriage." He says and the looks on both aunt's and Uncle's face changes to the one of happiness. Aunt again pulls me in for a hug, "Oh Sofie, I can't tell you, how happy I am to hear this news." She says.
"You know when Marc left with you, I thought you wouldn't marry my boy after you got to know about the contract because if you would've stayed here, you both would know each other and maybe fall for each other." She says making me a little, um... different as she brought up the topic of love.
"But I think differently, if she would've stayed here, probably they might have formed a brother-sister relationship," Uncle says making us all chuckle. "And it's not like our son stays here." He says. Yeah, that's correct. I just know that their younger son is of my age, just three months elder and their elder son is five years older than me.
"You know, it's such a relief to know that you agreed because if you didn't still you would've to marry my son, it's just how your mother set the contract. It's there in the contract that you and our son should be married for at least two years." Aunt says startling me. I'm guessing it's because of this type of situation. My mother trusted me in her best friend's hands the most and if I would disagree, I still would have to marry their son and maybe in these two years, I would actually fall for him. My mum really planned for my future keeping every possible situation that could arise in her mind.
"Aunt, I have to use the restroom," I say because my bladder is about to explode. She directs me and after doing my business in a very well kept restroom, I make my way out. On my way out, I hear a sound indicating that something might have dropped, probably crockery. I make my way to where the sound came from. It wasn't hard as I just had to turn right and it took me to the kitchen.
"Hey, it is okay. You don't need to panic. It's just the wine glasses." A man... no a tall, muscular man says trying to calm down the panicking maid.
"I'm so sorry, sir. It just dropped from my hands. I swear I didn't mean to drop it." She says paying no heed as to what he was saying.
"It's okay, just calm down." He again says trying to calm her down. He crouches down with a plate in his hand and starts picking up the glass pieces.
"No sir! Why are you doing this? I'll do it." The maid exclaims trying to take the plate from his hand.
"No, it's okay. You clearly need to calm down first. And don't worry it's not a big deal. I know it's your job but that doesn't mean I can't do it, I can help you, after all, you too are a human." He says chuckling. Wow! He is such a sweetheart! This man is clearly not an ordinary person, his clothing says it all. He is wearing very expensive office attire. Wait, is he their son and my......my future husband. OMG! He is such a gentleman, I'm definitely lucky to marry him. But wait Soff, don't get too excited. You still don't know if he is the heir of the Miller family or maybe just someone who is related to them via business. But I would really love it if he turns out to be the one who I think.
"You are so different from your brother." The maid admits after staring at him for a few seconds.
"Um... he is not a bad person. He is just a little short-tempered and I'm sure he would've been in a foul mood for you to have this conclusion about him." He says in a sweet voice, trying to defend and explain his brother's behaviour. He is such a caring person, I could tell it by just how he is interacting with the maid and defending his brother.
"To fire a maid because she didn't serve him wine in a wine glass of his liking, you call it a little short-tempered? Like literally, she presented the wine in pinot noir wine glass and not in Bordeaux wine glass and for this he fired her." The maid says opposing his statement.
"Um... It's just he wants everything to be perfect." He again defends his brother. As I said, he is caring, loving and protective of his family.
The maid smiles at him and after they clean the mess together, they both finally notice me. I suddenly get anxious not knowing what I shall serve them as a reason, but I guess my stars are lucky because the maid saves me.
"You must be Miss Gill. It's so nice to meet you, mam. Mrs Miller couldn't stop talking about you while instructing us about the work." She says smiling and then starts doing her work. I look at the man and my! He is so handsome with blue eyes. Oh! I just love blue eyes!
I've always wished I had them but mine are brown like my mother and unlike my father who has blue eyes and I always have and always will envy him for that.
The man walks to me and I try not to make a fool of myself.
"Hi, you must be Sofie Gill. I'm Brian Miller." He says stretching his hand for a handshake. I was right! He is indeed my future husband. Well, getting married all of a sudden isn't going to be bad at all. I look at his hand and put my hand in his before I could make a fool of myself.
"Hi, yeah I'm Sofie Gill. It's nice to finally meet you." I say.
"Finally meet me? You were looking forward to it?" He says amused.
"I mean, I've heard a lot about you from dad, so yeah I was kind of looking forward to meeting you," I say chuckling lightly.
"Well then let's head inside. I want to see my parents' expression when they see me because I just came here without informing them. You know, when they told me that their best friend along with his daughter was finally coming here I just couldn't wait to meet you, so you could say that I too was looking forward to meeting you, to meet my..." He says and suddenly the cooker whistles causing us to look at its way.
"Well let's get inside." He says and we both make our way inside.
