"What do you mean she is gone" Marianna asked. "There was no sign of the crown princess your majesty, not wow a corpse" the knight told marianna. "Someone must have taken her during the chaos then" marianna said turning to Theo. "I don't care if you have to get every knight in the empire, you will find her alive or I will have your head," Theo told him.
The knight bowed before walking away.
"Where in the world could she have gone?" Marianna asked.
Serphina opened her eyes and began to cough, as she looked around it appeared she was in some sort of cabin? But where? And how in the world did she get there? It took her a moment to realize she was tied to a chair. "I see your finally awake princess" a familiar voice said from behind her.
"Anthony Soran" she said through gritted teeth. "I'm afraid I need you," he said as he walked in front of her. "All you need to do is sign this soul contract and agree to marry me" he told her. A soul contract. A type of magic contract that binds your soul to it when you sign it. If you break it you die.
"Go to hell," she told him. "Burn" Seraphina said, attempting to use magic. But nothing happened. "Oh your magic won't work" he told her. "That collar around your neck you may or may not have noticed... it's blocking your precious magic the only way out is for you to sign the contract" he added.
"You best pray to the gods that I not escape" she told him. "For if I do, I swear upon my own life you will die by the dragon's power you so wish to have" she continued.
"Seraphina I do not wish for your Dragons" he said. "I only wish to have you," he added. "I wish to have you by my side for the rest of our lives" he told her. "Seems to me that whether I break the contract or not is a death sentence" she said.
Anthony turned around and punched the wall then turned back to her. "WHY IN THE WORLD MUST YOU BE SUCH A b***h" he yelled. "I care for you, no in fact I love you. Why must you hate someone who is so fond of you?" He asked? "As I said before lord Anthony, I care not for your fondness of me, nor do I care for what you claim is your love for me" she told him. "I would prefer to die then to sign that contract and live a life with you" she added, causing her to slap her across the face.
"You will sign it," he told her. "I will not," she replied. "Let me go," she added. "No," he said.
Suddenly a loud roar echoed from outside. It was one Sera had not heard before. Then from the windows they could see the forest around them begin to catch on fire, as they heard another roar from above them. Sera smiled. "It seems a dragon has found us," Seraphina said as she looked at Anthony. "No impossible" he said with wide eyes.
He pulled out his sword and cut the rope that had once tied Seraphina to the chair then stood her up, holding the sword to her neck and walked her outside. The entire forest was set ablaze. But with a sword still to her neck they slowly walked through the woods turning at every sound they heard. "Are you perhaps scared?" Sera asked sarcastically. "Scared that you'll die by a dragon's fire?" She asked once more as the flapping of the dragon's wings could be heard from above them.
It was close, very close. Suddenly the dragon landed in front of them. The large red dragon looked angry as it stared down at the man who held a sword to Seraphinas neck, making him press it against her neck causing a little bit of blood to trickle down her neck.
"Tell it to back off," he said to Sera. "I'm afraid I can't," she replied. "WHY NOT?" he yelled. "She's a wild dragon. One that only does what she wishes, I can not make her do anything" Seraphina explained. They slowly began to back up and flare slowly walked forward. "I wouldn't move if I were you," Sera said. "No tell what she'll do if she gets mad" she added, as she stared up into flare's eyes. She could tell that flare was there to save her, and not harm her.
Seraphina quickly stomped on his food and elbowed him in the gut causing him to yell in pain and release her. But before she could run far enough away from him, he slashed her back with his sword causing her to scream as she fell to the ground.
Please work, please work, please work. She thought in her head as she yelled "IGNIS" at the top of her lungs with all the force she could muster. Flare slowly breathed in. Anthony's eyes went wide and as he turned to run away flare let out a large breath of fire onto him. His screams lasted less than a moment as his body quickly fell to the ground and turned to ash.
It worked. Sera thought as she turned to look at what was left of his body. It really worked she thought again, as she turned her head back to look up at Flare who was now looking down at her.
For the past few days, Seraphina had been teaching the baby dragon Eris to breathe fire on command, and had noticed flare watching. She didn't think she would actually listen though.
Sera slowly stood up and as she did fell back down again from the pain in her back. But before she could hit the ground, flare caught her with her nose. "What a strange dragon you are," seraphina told her. "Excuse while I try to ride you" Sera said as she slowly climbed on flares back. Dragons were smart. If she didn't want to let her ride her flare would have stopped her. "Alright flare" seraphina said as she laid down but wrapped herself around flare, "let us head back" she told her, and flare took off into the air.
