We quickly made it to the courtyard, and there stood a large red angry dragon. It was Flare. But somehow in such a short time, she had not only escaped the sink hole but had also grown significantly larger. Blizzard storm, and Drazyn appeared, landing behind my mother, Salana, and I. How do we stop a dragon as large as that one? It was the size of Drazyn.
"FLARE!" I yelled, getting its attention. It looked down at me, obviously still angry. But what made it so mad? And how did it even find us? I was perplexed to say the least, but for some reason unknown to myself I stepped closer to it.
"Sera!" My mother said worry in her voice. "It is still a wild dragon" she told me "there is no telling what it is capable of" she added. I turned to her. "It's just a worried mother" I told her as I turned back to her. "Worried? How would you know Sera?" She asked. "I don't know," I told her. "I... I just have a feeling" I added.
"Someone bring me the baby dragon!" I stated. And so someone did. But as they approached with the baby dragon she jumped out of their arms and ran to its mother circling around her leg. Flare lowered her head and rubbed it against the baby slightly nudging her. "It was worried about the baby you brought back" my mother said as she walked over to me.
"I guess we'll have 2 extra dragons to feed now" I told her. "So it seems" she replied to me, then she let out a deep breath, and turned to Salana. "Have someone clean up this mess please" she said. "Yes your Majesty," Salana said with a bow of her head, before my mother walked away.
Salana walked over to me. "You seem to have a better connection with dragons then her Majesty" Salana said as she stared up at Flare. "What was my mother like?" I asked turning to her. "Before she became who she is today, before she became queen." I asked.
"Hard for me to say for sure," she answered. "I only met her majesty after she decided to go to war with the former king," Salana told me. "But when I met her I could see her spirit... her will" she added. "It was truly her wish to destroy all those who wished to harm her dragons" she continued. "And she would do any means necessary to make sure that happened" she finished.
"Why do you ask?" Salana asked me. "Perhaps I wish to be like her," I told Salana, "but I am far from it," I added. "Well I would hope so," Salana said. I looked at her confused. "I am her daughter, I should be like her," I said. "You are her daughter... yes... but you are not her clone" she told me.
"I can see from standing miles away the differences between you two" she added. "The differences?" I questioned. She let out a sigh. "Did you know that they used to call her majesty the Princess of Dragons?" She asked me. "In Fact I believe most still do," she added. "But Do you know what they call you?" She asked. I just looked at her.
"They call you The Dragon's Daughter" she told me. "Because unlike her majesty you don't have a control over the dragons, but instead a connection to them" she explained. "You seem to have an understanding for them... an understanding no one else can relate to" she finished.
"Well I suppose I should head back, the courtyard won't fix itself" Salana said, as she gave a quick curtsy before walking away.
I looked back up at Flare who was now staring down at me again. I lifted up my hand and she lowered her head. Then her nose touched my hand. Was this dragon truly considered wild? I thought to myself, she seemed far too tame to not have been around humans before.
"I'm curious to know how your other babies will fare," I said quietly.
MEANWHILE ELSEWHERE.
"Sir" a man said walking into the ArchMages Office with an envelope in hand. "It appears you have some sort of invitation from the imperial family of Sengrid" said the man "I have told you many times to call me by my name Alan" said the archmage. "Yes Alastor" Alan said with a bow of his head.
Alan handed him the letter. And Alastor quickly opened it. "It's about time," Alastor said with a smile. "What is it for?" Alan asked.
"This is an invitation for the crown princesses 20th birthday" Alastor answered. This is exactly what we have been waiting for" he told Alan. "You're gonna do it at her birthday banquet?" Alan questioned. "Of course" Alastor said. "That would be far to easy, and exactlywhat we need" he told him. "We shall finallymake ourselves known" he added.
"And how exactly do you plan to do that?" Alan asked sarcastically. Alastor shot Alan a glare. "I'm the arch mage of the magic tower, I need not do a thing," Alastor answered. Soon the time will come for us to use the magic I have gained to control the dragons, and with them we will take over the entire world" Alastor told him
BACK IN SENGRID
"Your Majesty," said a servant. "Yes," Theo said, turning to look at him. "I have completed the task given to me by your majesty" said the servant. "Very good," Theo said, turning back around. "And the result?" Theo asked. "It seems the crown princess does not have any man she favors at the moment. "Very good you are dismissed" Theo said. The servant gave a bow before quickly leaving, closing the door behind him.
Theo let out a sigh. "Thank god" he said to himself. "Just the thought of a man touching my little girl is enough to make me kill someone," he said.
Theo cared for his daughter very much though his relationship wasn't as close as it was when she was a child. He loved her even more than his own wife. And to him no one was good enough for his little girl.
