8. Just a Dream

762 Words
Avalon    I went to visit Mel after a long time. I knew she had somehow found her mate and had a child. But we’ve grown distant lately. I entered her house after her maid opened the door for me. I heard Mel’s voice “Sweetheart, wait. You can’t run like this, you’ll hurt yourself.” The next thing I felt was something small crashing into my legs. I looked down and saw the little girl falling down on her butt, she looked up at me, eyes tearing up. Those eyes. My own eyes were full of recognition. She will be mine. My mate. I was paralysed by surprise and by happiness. I finally found her; I couldn’t believe it. She was staring at me, as a couple of silent tears went down her chubby cheeks. I bent down and took her in my arms, wiping her tiers away. “Are you alright?” She nodded before she wrapped her tiny arms around my neck. I looked in front of me and saw a very confused Mel. “What happened? Is she okay?” She looked concerned and walked towards me to take the child to her arms. I took a step back and tightened my hold on the toddler. I couldn’t let her go at this moment. “She is fine. She crashed into my legs.” The little girl looked up at my face. The look in her eyes was mesmerising, deep. It held soul, the other part of my soul to be precise. “Are you hurt?” “No.” She answered, shaking her head. She reached up to touch my beard and I think it scratched her tiny hands since she took her hands away and muttered “Oww.” Such a sweet little thing. She looked back into my eyes, “Hi. What’s your name?” she asked and a big grin stretched across my face. “I’m King Avalon,” I told her. “My name is Liv.” She said. “Seems like you made a new friend,” Mel said looking at her and stretching her arms for Liv to go to her. “Yes!” She answered, but she didn’t reach to her mother. “Kin Avalon.” She muttered, making me chuckle. I kissed the top of her head. I didn’t want to let her go. Ever. But I had to. She’s a child. I’ve to wait for her to grow up. Then I won’t ever let her go out of my arms. She should be a bit older than 3 now. She’s only a baby. “Sweetheart come to me. Avalon probably wants to take a sit and drink something.” She tried reaching for Liv once again. “No,” I answered, and Mel looked at me perplexed. “I don’t need a drink or to sit. I can hold her.” I added. “Okay, if you want to. I didn’t know you were so fond of kids.” She replied. “Oh Goddess, I am such a bad host! Welcome to my home! It’s good to see you. How is everything going?” She asked with a smile. “Mel... everything is perfect! I’ve found her. My mate.” “That’s great! I’m so happy for you. We’ll finally have a queen.” Her smile grew wide. “Who is she? Have you mated already? I would love to meet her soon.” Mel was genuinely happy for me. “You already know her.” Mel flashed me a puzzled gaze. “What?” She asked. “It’s her. Your daughter, Liv.” “Oh, Goddess!” She brought her hands to her mouth in surprise. “I’m... I’m still happy for you. I... it will be hard to wait for her to grow up and finally be your mate.” “Mommy?” “Yes, sweetheart,” Mel replied. “What’s a mate?”   ~ * ~   I woke up with a start. It wasn’t a dream. It was a memory. The first time I’ve seen my mate, my sweet little mate. I need her. Somehow dreaming about her brought me some rays of sanity. Lately, my dark instincts are growing faster. Not as fast as before I’ve mated with her, but faster.       Hello lovelies, I have just cut the s*x scene that was here (to have more balance between plot and steam), if you want to read it, check chapter SIX of my book of Chronicles "Chronicles of the Six Realms."
