Slap!

Indan It was a Sunday. Service was soon to begin but I had rode to church an hour before, with Kent. Usually, he left home earlier so he could meet up with the activities that came with being responsible for the church. I left home with him because I told him, as his wife, I was responsible to be by his side while he served the lord. That wasn't the truth and he suspected. I came with so I could be certain he wasn't riding some two legged skeleton. "You should use this as your chance to spend more time with the children." He would say every time I dressed up to leave, along with him. "Natalie will bring them to church, they are fine." I would argue. He was not going to use the children against me, only to make a fool out of me. Natalie still wasn't in church with the kids  but I was less worried about that. She would turn up eventually, I knew it. The church piano began to play, a warning that the few early members had to get ready for the church service to start, myself inclusive. I sat in the front row that was preoccupied by only three other members, a family dressed elegantly. I crossed one leg over the other and rendered my silent prayer to the lord. "Bless this service dear lord, make it the best of its kind, amen." The church stood in harmony as Kent walked to the altar, arriving from his office. I fell in love all over. His hair was lengthy but it was hard to tell because he had it combed to the back in the most attractive way possible. Dark shadows sat on his face where his now shaved beard once was. He was dressed in a black suit that promoted his elegance. I watched from the corner of my eyes to catch sight of toxic people that could possibly have their eyes on him lustfully. "...This service is declared open in the name of the father, son and the holy spirit." I had been distracted that I had not heard him pray. "Amen." I chorused with the rest of the church, and took my seat. Just then, a frustrated looking Natalie walked to the front row and sat beside me, handing the children over to me. I picked Adam and placed him on my lap while Sally sat next to Natalie. "What took you so long?" I whispered since the rest of the church except from Kent was silent. "We should have been done long ago but Adam decided it was fine to pee his pants when I was done with getting them dressed!" She grunted, not pleased by the situation at all. "Don't be hard on him." I rolled my eyes, patting Adam's back. He leaned against my chest and drew lines around my hand. "Sorry, is this seat taken?" A faint voice interrupted, pointing at the spot directly next to me. Natalie, seated by my right hand was fast to shake her head negatively. "It's free." She informed the woman, earning a disapproving glare from me. "Thank you." The dimpled woman smiled and took her seat beside me. Her huge, curly hair sat in a ponytail that was packed to the back of her head. She was in a red gown that stopped right above her knees and a small white jacket to hide her arms from being revealed. "What?" Natalie mouthed to me when the stranger was no longer looking in our direction. I ignored her and tried not to take in all the beautiful features I could have earned that this slender creature possesed. I focused my attention on what my husband had to deliver... * It was time for the offering service. Usually an offering box was passed around but this Sunday was supposed to be a special service where the offerings were donated to the orphanage that had sent their representative the previous Sunday. Turned out it was not a false story. To deliver their offering donation, whoever was capable had to walk to the altar and dropped the envelope containing cash in a huge box. The choristers led the church in a melodious song while everyone stood to their feet to place their offerings. I was unable to stand as Adam had slept off in my hands. I got Natalie to drop an offering in my stead. I watched the woman seated beside me arrange money from her purse into the envelope she had, while she sang along to the note delivered by the choristers. Not only did she look like a million dollars, she equally sounded like she would pass off as beyoncé. Thinking about it caused me to see how much she looked like the said singer. She appeared to be flawless. I thought my life would be perfect if I physically resembled her and all she had in her possession. She stood to her feet to join the queue that were headed to the offering box. I despised that she was going to have to make an appearance before Kent. I hoped he would be too involved to notice this blessed woman. I followed her footsteps with my eyes, angered by her smile and claps to the song. I began to sing along, hoping it would make me feel less worse. I ignored my monstrous voice and paid attention to Kent. It was eventually her turn. Unlike expected, she didn't drop her offering and turn to leave. In fact, she tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear as a comment from my husband made her blush. "The sweet blood of Jesus." I gasped, my heart suddenly racing in its cage. Not only was Kent commenting on possibly her appearance, his eyes were focused on her pointed boobs. Without thinking, I pushed Adam against Sally. "Mommy!" She called in a frightening voice as I dashed towards the altar, endowed with a foreign strength of speed. I stood in front of the tall woman, pulled her by the collar of her jacket, and landed her a torturing slap, in front of the whole church.
