Chapter 4
Tom scampered to the nearest vacant chair and sat. That put him face to face with another of the strange screens, this one with buttons and levers in rows on either side. Gazing into the screen, he could see several shadowy shapes and flashing streams of light, some coming from them and others perhaps from the ship in which he now rode. He glanced at some of the others, all seated in similar spots except for Rowan, whose place in the center of the curving console held different devices. Tom guessed that was the post for the person controlling the vessel.
Several more times, their ship pitched, yawed, dropped, or rose abruptly, while Rowan’s hands flew over a series of buttons and levers.
What I’d give to be able to go over a schematic of this amazing ship and the way it works!
