This time when I arrived at Beta Academy. I was met with no resistance from the guards. It was creepy considering how I was first greeted. They mind-linked Nathan, who seemed happy to see me.
“How are you, Ellie?” He greeted me like an old friend with a smile. I looked at him dubiously, believing he was up to something. Either that or the pod people had taken over his body. Nathan introduced me to his daughter-in-law, Maria. Maybe that’s why he’s acting strangely. Is he trying to impress her? “My friends call me Goldie,” She said.
