A few days later Deuce Gannon got the shock of his life while walking down a deserted street. While stepping off a curb he happened to look down and saw a tabloid lying in the gutters, ink smudged and encrusted with the fifth of the street. He leaned down and grabbed the saturated rag, finding himself the subject of a scandalous headline. As he read it he learned that someone had spotted him on the street, and instead of keeping it to themselves, they went straight to Gossip and sold him out for thirty pieces of silver.
