Chapter 5 Caiden looked at Styge, asking, “How did I let myself get talked into this?” He didn’t expect and answer, so he grinned when the cat shook his head. “Yeah, I don’t know either.” He checked himself in the mirror, wishing Zander had called to tell him he had another job for him, and needed him on it yesterday. That hadn’t happened—unfortunately. I’m heading out to dinner with someone I barely know. If I had a working brain, I’d at least have had Zander run a check on him first. But no, that would have been too simple. He ran a comb through his dark hair one more time, checked his pockets to be certain he had everything, and went out on the balcony.
