Chapter 5Early Wednesday morning the friends held a war council over breakfast to discuss what Tyler, Neil, and Pete had seen the previous evening.
“It has to be the same thing I heard Sunday night,” Dave said when they finished. “That means it’s following us.”
Jake agreed, but added, “It could be responsible for whatever happened to the guy from the bow runner.”
“Not a happy thought,” Pete said dryly.
“Right now, the question is do we want to forget about doing any more exploring and go home.” Tyler looked from man to man.
“I don’t,” Bart said. “I want to stay here and see if we can find the thing or person. If it’s a person, they obviously need help. If it’s a monster, we could be real famous if we caught it.”
