I jumped off my seat when the heart monitor flat lined. My worst fears were coming true. First our child and now my mate. Mom rushed in the room with a couple of other nurses along with Kitiana, Gavin, Jazmine, Killian, and Kellan, but before anyone could touch Alex she sat up gasping for air. Everyone froze in shock as she looked around until her eyes landed on me. I couldn’t help but reach for her.
“Alex, baby are you okay?” Kitiana asked. Alex ignored her mother’s question and touched her now flat belly as tears began to fall.
“Where… where is my baby?” she asked, looking at me. I looked at her as a tear streamed down my face. How do I tell her that she lost our baby? This will break her.
“Baby-”
“Please… I want to see my baby” she pleaded. That’s when I realized she knew.
