Celestia Ryn Austen
“Very funny. Though it’s nice to see you wear something decent this time, Rums,” I sniggered, which made him pout.
He was wearing a tuxedo, its brown and red combination, suitable for his tanned colored skin and brown eyes.
“Uncle gave this to me,” He rolled his eyes, which made me stop because I thought Dad gave me special treatment, but he did not.
I don’t have any problems with it though. I got used to Dad doing those things for us all the time. This time, I was too over the moon about the dress and got hurt a bit.
Expecting too much would lead to much more disappointment. It wasn’t long until Dad revealed himself to us looking decent as well.
“Everyone is looking good, now let's go and meet with the former Alpha at this diner where we always eat,” Dad told us as we all nodded.
I should feel nervous, but all I’m trying to keep inside me is the determination for me to get that position as the bodyguard of the present Alpha.
The main goal is for me to do my future job properly and make my father proud. Aside from that, I still have to finish my degree.
Lately, I have been neglecting my studies, especially with the thesis part. I hate that subject the most. Research is supposed to help researchers gain knowledge and yet all I get from it is a headache.
“Celestia, are you coming?” Dad pulled me back from reality. I blinked my eyes several times before nodding as I paced outside.
We have this Avanza that would fit almost seven to nine people and it’s enough for a big family like us.
Though my cousins have their own families, they still want to stay with us because they have dreams just like me, to become a bodyguard for not just humans, but also werewolves.
We are aware of how strong werewolves are, but that fact does not stop us from wanting our dreams because we are confident enough to prove ourselves.
My train of thoughts stopped when I realized that the vehicle was already parked at the familiar place where all my favorites are served.
This has always been the meeting place of the former Alpha and my father; they are good friends with one another.
I have always been best friends with his son since I was seven, but I doubt that he still remembers me from back then because that was many years ago.
He became preoccupied with his duties and of course, his other identity as the young billionaire and actor in Lotus City.
I shook my thoughts because I must be one with my heart and head right now because who knows what challenge will come before us?
After Dad had settled down, we entered the place with smiles on our faces because of the aroma of the fresh food being made.
One of the talented chefs that are hired here is my gay best friend, Azul Merrington, and he’s the best cook and fashion adviser of my life.
My eyes roamed around the place and instantly spotted him speaking with the former Alpha, and he looked like he was blushing.
I secretly chuckled because he only does that if he likes the person, most especially the handsome beings around him.
And he is also a werewolf and that is what makes him adorable, he’s like a big fluffy teddy bear I could always rely on.
It was as if he sensed my presence when he looked at me before squealing, “Ah! If it isn’t my favorite model but I do not want to model!”
I immediately rolled my eyes before crossing my arms against my chest, “Is that how you greet me for ditching me the other day?”
“Oh, you know that I had a reason why I had to ditch you,” He pouted, which made me laugh while shaking my head.
“I’m just messing with you, and you dove in immediately,” I playfully winked before shifting my gaze to the former Alpha as I bowed.
“A pleasant evening, Mr. Coleman,” I greeted him politely. It looked like he was pleased to see me before shaking my hands.
If I’m not mistaken, his name is Anthony Coleman. One of the strongest Alpha in his generation, and my father was his bodyguard.
“The pleasure is mine, Celestia, I can’t believe you’ve grown too much,” He emotionally stated, which made me smile.
He has been seeing us train secretly all the time at the facility, though I am not sure that he knows that I know he is doing that.
“Dad doesn’t want to though,” We both chuckled at my statement as my cousins came to greet him a good evening as he fists bumped with my father.
“I’m guessing all of your orders are usual?” Azul happily asked. We only smiled before nodding as he excused himself towards the kitchen.
“No one knows you are here, right?” Dad asked him. Mr. Coleman shook his head before chuckling.
“Well, they know what I am planning, except for my son,” He told us, forcing everyone to pipe down to listen to him.
“Right, would you explain to them why you called them here for them to be fully aware of what they needed to do?” Dad requested, which made him nod.
“My son has been receiving death threats and I’m not sure if it came from humans, hunters, or worse, vampires,” Mr. Coleman claimed as the tension in our air became solemn, “He has been in trouble a few times already, but he takes those incidents lightly,”
“I know how Romeo is working hard to train each one of you every single day, which is why I’m confident that you would protect my son no matter what as his bodyguard,”
“I know you are all wondering why I am choosing a human to protect my son, but this is the only way for him not to be suspicious, if I asked one of our kind to look after him, he would immediately know,”
I nodded at his statement, that would make huge sense. They thought about this a lot.
“Having someone to watch him while he is too busy neglecting those dangers around him is the only way I could be at ease, are you all up to the task?” He raised his gaze before looking at each one of us, “Only one will win this position,”
“Only one will win?” Rums squinted his eyes.
“Yes, only one. I am here to request each one of you to prove themselves to me at the training grounds of werewolves. It would be a good opportunity because my son already left a while ago for a taping that would take until tomorrow noon or evening, I think?” He mumbled unsurely.
“That would be great, shall we eat early dinner first before we discuss what we should do later?” Dad happily suggested and everyone agreed with him.
I clutched my chest because I had this feeling that numerous challenges would be given to us later, but I will prove to everyone that I am fit for this job.
To be continued…
