*Mira* I stirred in the darkness, feeling as if I were floating in and out of consciousness. My body was freezing, but then, something solid and warm wrapped around me. My fingers instinctively curled around it, desperate for the heat that was so comforting. I tried to open my eyes, but my eyelids felt too heavy. The cold that had gripped me earlier slowly began to fade. There was a scent too—pine, fresh and soothing, like the woods after a rainstorm. It made me feel safe.
