Marise
Now I’m the one laughing. “The Players Club? What is it? A club for man w****s?”
He narrowed his eyes at me, probably thinking that I was going to be afraid of him. Think again, Alpha.
“This club has been passed down from my family to me. I will not let you insult or disrespect me, my pack, or my club.”
I was becoming impatient. I didn’t care about any of this. “Look, Alpha, I’m not trying to hear about all of this. I only care about finding my sister. Somehow we were led here to your club, so either you can help us or we’ll start tearing this place apart.”
I looked dead into his hazel eyes. He gazed right back at mine. I can feel this urge, pull towards him and even though he's angry, I knew he wouldn’t hurt me. I found myself filling him in my mind, which only confused me. Nymphs were known to use their charms to control men, yet I didn’t even have to do it with him. There was definitely some attraction between us, I’ll admit, but I wasn’t going to act on it and I definitely wasn’t going to let this little banter between us distract me. I just want to find my sister and go back to our new home.
“Okay, obviously we got off on the wrong foot. So let’s start over. I’ll help find your sister, but,” he smirked. “You have to stay on our land.”
“What kind of deal is that?”
“I think it’s a great one. You and your sister will have the protection of my pack. Besides, nymphs would make good whores.” He laughed along with the rest of his pack. He was really pushing his buttons to me, but it sucks to say that this is true. Nymphs were known to use their sexuality with men for whatever they wanted. Although I’ve never touched a man, everyone else believes that we’re all the same. They quoted Birds of feather flock together. Still, his sexist outburst made me so mad.
“Judging a book by its cover much? You sexist piece of shit.”
“Mari, just calm down,” Miren pleaded, but I ignored her. He doesn’t get to get away with that.
“No, I don’t give a damn about him being an Alpha. We, Nymphs, as he so delicately puts it, are not w****s. We are women, beautiful women who know what they want.”
He walked up on me, into my personal space. I could smell his scent. He looked me dead in the eyes. “And I’m the Alpha. You’re in my territory now. So I suggest you start behaving.”
I’ve had enough of him! I jumped at him, making him fall with me landing on top of him. I can hear the growls from his pack, their bones cracking as they begin to shift.
“Settle down, wolves!” He ordered. They immediately turned back. He looked at me with a totally different demeanor. His cocky smile returned leaving me confused. His hand was on my thigh, sending chills through my body. He slowly moved them higher, but I grabbed his hand and pushed them away from me.
Clearly, he’s the one doing the seducing, leaving me more confused.
I don’t know why the sources led us here, but it must be fate. It has to be a step in the right direction. A step that would help us figure out where Mesai was. Miren said the men were shapeshifters, Lions to be precise. If that’s the case, why did we end at the club surrounded by the Red Moon Pack. s**t, I forgot that I was on top of him in front of everyone. I quickly got up and brushed myself off. He was enjoying every moment of this.
“I can see that we overstayed our welcome. My sister and I will be on our way,” Miren spoke. “Sorry for disturbing your gathering.” As we turned to walk away, Kai spoke.
“Wait!” He waited until we turned around. “We will help you find your sister.”
“I already told you we’re not going to be wh-“ he raised his hand, cutting me off. It took me by surprise that I actually stayed quiet to hear what he had to say. I guess it was because those gorgeous eyes lingered in mine, holding me captive.
“You won’t be any of that. I was just kidding around and I can see that I’ve offended you. I know I would lose my s**t, if something were to happen to any of my brothers.” I felt conflicted and I broke our eye contact. Should we trust him? Should we trust any of them? As the oldest, I needed to be responsible, meaning that every decision I make not only affects me, but sisters as well. And making the decision to let them both go off on their own cost my sisters to be hurt and left me feeling guilty. Now I’m supposed to trust a man!
No, I’m supposed to trust the source! The sources never lie! Trust the source. The voice inside my head told me.
“Trust the source,” I whispered to myself. Oh, I hope I’m making the right decision.
“Okay, we will stay.”
“What?” Miren had a confused look. “Marise, are you crazy! We can’t stay here with a bunch of wolves.” She was right. It wasn’t logical, but we had no choice.
“We have to, Mir. We may find something that will lead us to whoever took Mesai,” I tried to help her make sense of it. I couldn’t even make sense of it.
“I don’t know. I don’t like this.”
“Me either, but what if we leave and the sources lead is right back here. Don’t you think that if there was another way, we wouldn’t be here?” Miren didn’t seem really convinced and I didn’t blame her. “I know it doesn’t make sense now, but what choice do we really have? Besides, they’re wolves and they can’t maul us to death.”
She let out a sharp breath. “Okay, the only reason I’m going along with this is because I want to find Mesai.”
I grabbed both of her hands. “Me too, more than anything.”
We turned towards the Alpha, stood with his eyebrows raised. “If there’s any games or my sister gets hurt in any way, all heavens will break loose.”
There it goes again, that smirk. When he spoke, his voice was so smooth and deep with an attractive authoritative tone. “Have a drink. It’s on the house.”
What the heck did I just do?

Lennix was excited to find our mate while I questioned the Moon Goddess’s decision. Marise, she is something that I may need to tame but then again, that doesn’t sound as pleasing. I have to admit, my body went into overdrive when our skin touched. My arousal and my primal instinct to mark her was the intended feeling I’ve ever had around a woman. The way that she tackled me on the floor with so much power, drove me and Lennix crazy. I knew I couldn’t let her leave especially if our fates are intertwined. She was so beautiful standing there with fiery red curls that fell down her back. I tried to find any flaws on her porcelain skin, but there were none. It was almost too good to be true that we are fated together for the rest of our lives.
“Are you really going to let your brother take your mate to a room?” Lennix asked.
“I don’t want her to feel awkward.”
“She may be but she will eventually open up to you.”
“Yeah if I don’t scare her off,” I replied to him. Lennix understood where I was coming from.
“Well I don’t think she’s afraid of you. In fact, her heart was racing at contact. She’s definitely intrigued.” He was right. There was some chemistry between us and she was definitely the type of woman that a man has only dreamed of. Knowing that Rafael, or Rafe as we call him, would flirt with her didn’t sit right with me. She’s mine!
As they were getting ready to leave, I saw that Rafe, was about to place his hand on the small of her back where her silky skin was exposed, made me immediately stroll over there. I looked my brother in his eyes as they began to glow and claimed her before anyone else thought about it.
“Mate,” I growled. Everyone else immediately bowed down.
She had a confused look upon her face and I was sure if it was because she heard me claim her or if it was how my pack bowed to me. None of it didn't matter though, because now that I announced it, they would treat her, our new Luna, with respect.
I smiled down at her. “I’ll escort you to your living quarters.”
“How far is it? My sister and I was hurt last night. I’m not sure if we’re up to walking far distances.” When she mentioned that, I immediately lifted her into my arms. She gasped and tried squinting out, but I just slapped her soft a*s, making her tense as she went pale.
“What the heck are you doing? Put me down!” She scowled. I knew she was embarrassed that I was doing this in front of my entire pack, but she doesn’t understand. She will soon though.
“Be still and stop making a scene. You just said you were hurt.”
“Yes, but Miren is more hurt than I am. I got hurt by feeling her pain when I found her. She was actually the one attacked! I can walk by myself!” She jumped or more like flew out of my arms.
Since when did nymphs fly? My mouth fell open as she looked down at me. God, she was beautiful. She lowered herself until her feet touched the floor.
“Miren, are you okay to walk?” She asked her sister.
“Yes, I can walk.” Miren answered. I knew she was lying to her sister but I understood her loyalty.
Marise turned back towards me. “See, we’re fine, we can walk. Just have your hounds lead us to where we’re supposed to go.” She was definitely bossy and part of me liked it. She would be a strong Luna.
“I will be escorting you, while Rafael will be escorting your sister.”
She gave me a knowing look, silently warning me.
“No harm will come to her,” I promised her. “Besides, it’s right next door.”
“Fine,” I huffed out.
We escorted them to where they would be staying and showed them both where everything was located. They had separate rooms and Marise stood in the way of hers lost in thought.
“What’s going on in that head of yours?” I honestly thought that she was going to blow me off, but to my surprise, she actually answered me.
“It doesn’t feel right.” She stared blankly to the other end of the hall and then she turned her head to look at me. “One minute we were on our land and the next, we were under attack. Now, Mesai is missing.” Her face fell and tears started running down her cheeks.
Lennix whimpered in my head he felt her pain. She felt guilty. I pulled her into my arms expecting her to push me away, but once again, she managed to catch me off guard by not fighting me. She was so small and her skin was so soft. Her red hair smelled like honey. I wanted to hold her as long as I could but I knew better. I knew reality was going to crash and she would pull away.
“I’m sorry. I don’t know why I did that.”
“It’s okay.”
Her shoulders relaxed before she straightened them. “I really appreciate what you’re doing for my sister and I, but I would like to sleep.”
“Ummm, okay,” I scratched my head. As I walked out, she shut the door. Lennix wanted me to shift so we could sleep by her door and protect her, but that was out of the question.
He whimpered again, urging me to stay. “No Len. We can see her in the morning, I promise. She needs to rest.”
“Fine, you wimp.” I finally made it back to my room. I wanted to showered, but that meant washing her honey scent off of me. The sweet aroma surrounded me, almost suffocating me.
“Are you going to tell her that she’s our mate?” Lennix asked.
“I don’t know yet. Now go to bed, Len.”
“Goodnight grumpy ass.” My wolf is something special, but I’m grateful for him.
“Good night.”
