Chapter 12 : Searching Mission

Searching Mission

" Listen up everyone, your friend, your future Alpha is missing. Even though she is more than capable of handling any situation, we still have to help her so she can return to us safely. I will divide you into squads and my cousins will lead each squad. Am I clear "? Alpha Leon shouted each and every word very loudly and clearly.

" Yes, Alpha, "everyone said in unison.

" If anyone feels like they can't continue the search, then don't hesitate to back down. No one will hold it against you " Alpha Leon said, and everyone nodded their heads.

As per planned, Leon divided everyone present into eight squads, four day squads and four night squads. He was studying all the charts from early morning so he had a pretty good idea about whom to pair up with whom. After the squads were finished, it was time to assign the leaders. He knew it would be difficult.

" So, Erik will accompany squad A, while Alvin and Jeremiah will accompany squad B and C. I will accompany squad D myself " Alpha Leon said.

" But Brother " Derek said.

" Listen, all of us can't go searching in the morning and then in the evening. So it's better we will search till nine at night and then the night squads will take over " Alpha Leon said, looking at his cousins.

Allen was about to say something but Leon objected him.

" Arhaan, you still haven't had the best control on your wolf yet. So I want you to stay in the pack house and look after the pack members " Leon said, looking at Arhaan.

" Luna, you already know what to do " Leon said, looking at his mate, Naomi.

" Don't worry, I will keep them in line " Samuel said, assuring his mate.

" All right everyone, let's go ", Leon said, and everyone nodded their heads.

Erik along with Squad A went to the east, while Alvin along with Squad B headed towards the west. Both Jeremiah and Leon, along with their squads, headed towards north and south respectively.

Meanwhile, Benjamin and April have just woke up from Jeremiah's sleeping spell. Without wasting a second, they stormed off towards their nephews.

" Leon " Alpha Benjamin shouted loudly.

" Uncle, you woke up " Alex said as he approached him.

" How many hours have passed ? " Alpha Benjamin asked.

" You were asleep for almost a day. Your body was exhausted so the spell lasted for a few hours longer ", Alex said.

" Where is Leon? " Alpha Benjamin asked in a gritted voice.

" Brother Leon, along with Alvin, Jeremiah and Erik, went to search. Don't worry, everything will be okay ", Alex said, hugging his uncle. He knew even though his uncle was acting all mighty and tough, his heart must have broken into a million pieces since Ariana wasn't here. As the only girl born in their generation, she was the life of everyone's.

" I know " Alpha Benjamin said with a sigh. The whole day everyone spent resolving pack issues and reading all the research done by Alpha Benjamin. Both Derek and Arhaan learnt so many more things. The squads returned empty handed and the night squads went out for their fair share of the search.

" Did you find anything " Alpha Benjamin asked as soon as Derek and Samuel came from their night search. It had been three days already and all of them were doing nothing but searching for Ariana day and night.

" I am afraid not, uncle ", Samuel said, sitting down.

Both Alpha and Luna's faces paled. Even with all of them combined, could not find a thing.

" Did my princess really vanish ? " Alpha Benjamin thought in his head.

" Don't worry, uncle, we will find her ", Leon said, giving his uncle a flicker of hope.

" Yes, don't forget she is a Black Moon " Alex said.

" She is a special wolf and a warrior. Wherever she is, I'm sure she is safe ", Allen said.

" Besides who will dare to mess up with our Ana, she is a real crazy deal " Alvin said, smirking.

" We are Black Moons " Derek said.

" All for one and one for all " Erik said.

" No one messes with our family and gets away " Jeremiah said.

Both Alpha Benjamin and Luna April's eyes moistened a little seeing the younger generation and their determination and faith. The way they all believed that their sister was fine was admirable.

" All right, I do hope all of you are right " Luna April said, smiling a little.

The day squads left for the search. Jeremiah and his squad sat under a tree for a bit if rest. It's four in the afternoon and all of them were exhausted already. Jeremiah was looking at the bush in front of him and he found it odd for some reason. He stood up and went towards the bush. He inspected the leaves of the bushes and, as he suspected, the leaves were burned. He used his warlock essence and tried very hard to interpret what must have happened. Even though he wasn't as good and efficient as his mother, he was still training hard now. Once he had a hypothesis, he mind linked everyone.

" I think I found something. Meet me here " Jeremiah said over mind link to everyone.

About three hours later, everyone arrived.

" What did you find " Leon asked hurriedly.

" Look at these leaves, brother " Jeremiah said, pointing towards the bush.

" They are burnt, so what " Erik said.

" But it's winter " Alvin said.

" Do you think, " Leon asked, and Jeremiah nodded his head.

" Hold on, I still don't understand " Erik said.

" It's winter. There is no way the leaves of the bush could burn from sunlight. That means these bushes were exposed to a direct source of light. Look at all these areas and marks on the ground. You can still see the effects of magic " Jeremiah said.

" So this is the place where she vanished " Erik asked.

" Yes, it looks like that " Jeremiah said.

" But how? " one of the squad members said.

" That I don't know yet " Jeremiah said.

" What should we do now " Alvin asked Leon.

" We have to go back to the pack house and report everything. This is bigger than us ", Leon said, and everyone else nodded their heads. After dismissing the squad, all the cousins hurried towards the pack house.
