Secret Beast

11. Second time

Lee Jia closed her eyes and breathed deeply not to cry in front of him.

“A caretaker will come here to take care of your mother. From now on, you don’t have to come here to see her. You get sad after coming here; this is not acceptable to me.” He said in a serious and low voice. Lee Jai opened her eyes and looked at him with tears in her beautiful eyes.

“I did not know how many places I worked for her liquor and gambling. I cleaned her puking. I danced in a nightclub. I went to clean people’s houses but when I came to meet her for the first time after my marriage, and then do you know what she said today to me when I left? She did not ask how I am. She did not ask when I would come to meet her again. She told me that I should tell my rich husband to send her money for liquor and gambling.”

Lee Jia covered her face in her palms and sobbed.

“I am so unlucky that I have got such a mom.”

Kang Ray caressed her hair and pulled her in his embrace. He pressed her head on his chest and rubbed her hair gently.

“Why I am so unlucky, Ray?” She sobbed and wiped her face in his chest.

“Don’t cry.” He did not have any words to explain to her that she was not unlucky. But, the situation was too difficult that he could not say anything to her because he needed some time and clues to improve the situation.

The car stopped at the Kang Villa and Kang Ray brought her to the master bedroom while wrapping his arm around her waist. He held her shoulders and looked into her beautiful eyes.

“Are you okay?” He asked in a low voice.

Lee Jia nodded slowly and clung to him tightly then closed her eyes without hesitation. She wanted the warmth of his body that made her feel safe and stress-free. She liked it when she was sad and he pulled her in his embrace then his warm breaths and warm embrace made everything smooth and relaxed.

Kang Ray caressed her hair for a while and kissed her head gently in a sense of care. When she felt relaxing, she looked into his eyes that were firm and deep.

“Can I ask you a thing?” She asked in her low and sweet voice.

“Go on.” He moved her hair behind her ears gently.

“What did you like in me?”

He raised his eyebrows and looked at her with interest. She was curious to know why he decided to marry her just in four meetings.

Kang Ray had too many to say in answer. She was the fairy princess in Beastland and the prince beast. Every night, when he used to go to the pond behind his castle, she used to play there with her fairy friends. Whenever he went there, the fairies used to scare him but she was the one who never got scared of him and always teased him a lot. He never disliked her naughty and childish behavior. The other fairies were afraid of him so they stopped to come and play near the pond, but Lee Jia used to come alone and teased the prince beast with her childish behavior. Time passed and they became friends. Now, they used to meet near that pond every night and fell in love with each other. The love spread all over the Beastland and the King of the Beastland agreed to their marriage.

Kang Ray married her and they were living happily in love. Her bravery and humor dragged him in her love.

“I like you. Didn’t I say this before marriage?”

“But, what is the particular thing in me that made you like me?” She hugged her chest and asked.

“There is no reason for why I like you and what I like in you. All I know is you were born for me to whom I must care, to whom I must love.” He said affectionately. She lowered her eyes and when she could not handle the blush, she rushed to the bathroom.

Lee Jia was waiting for Kang Ray while standing near the glass wall of the master bedroom. After returning, they talked a little and then she rushed to the bathroom. They had dinner together then he left the dining hall after finishing the meal. She returned to the master bedroom and it was already ten o’clock. He hadn’t come yet.

When she was deeply lost in her thoughts, Kang Ray opened the door and she turned back to look at him with slight happiness in her heart. He walked to the desk beside the bed and put the glass jug of water on it. He walked to her and held her waist.

“You haven’t slept, yet.”

She could not say that she was waiting for him.

“Don’t you want to sleep?”

“I have some work to do. You must have tired.” He carried her in his arms and walked to the bed. He put her on the bed and looked at her with an affectionate gaze. She was shy and could not look into his straight eyes. He leaned and she closed her eyes because she thought he would kiss her on her lips but he put his lips gently on her forehead and looked at her while caressing her cheek.

“Sleep tight.” He said with a gentle smile and pulled the quilt for her. He turned off the lights and closed the door. Lee Jia sighed and turned her figure left side. She looked at the space sadly.

The days were passing like a beautiful stream. Lee Jia was happy and sad, too because, after fifteen days of marriage, Kang Ray never slept with her in the same room. They did not make love. Every morning, whenever she woke up, she saw the man was sitting on the couch and treated her lovingly. Every day, he made her feel special and lovely but he was not sharing intimate moments with her. She was confused with his behavior.

Lee Jia decided to find the truth and did not sleep, today. When he went downstairs after greeting her good night, she could not sleep and tears welled up from the corners of her eyes.

Kang Ray was a rich, handsome, and powerful man of the country. He was on the top of ten billionaires in the country. She got herself lucky when she married him. She could not believe for some time whether it was true or not. Kang Ray had not kissed her after that day when he saw her ugly back. He had not made love after marriage with her. Her happiness of being the luckiest was vanishing as the days were passing. He was loving her; he was caring for her, everything she had believed in him. There is nothing physically wrong with him that she felt last time when he had carried her and let her sit on his lap when they were in the car. She felt it. He was perfect and all right. Was he sad because of her ugly back? Yes, it could be true because on that day he was doing that but she refused to do it and stopped him. Yes, that was the last day. How long will she wait for him? She should talk to her husband or apologize to him for everything.

Lee Jia stood up courageously and got out of the room. She saw it downstairs. The lights were on. It was twelve o’clock at night and he was still working? She swallowed her saliva and slowly started going downstairs. She had only descended four steps just then she heard her husband’s scream. She trembled slightly because the villa was calm. She tightly held the arm of the stair in panic. What was going there in the study room? She started rushing rapidly but before she could reach the door of the study room, a roar came from the study room just like she heard on the mountain. She trembled slightly and broke into a sweat in fear. This was the second time when she heard these two screams. She slowly walked to the study room and raised her trembling palm while swallowing saliva in fear to knock on the door.

“Ray…”

She knocked on the door. There was silence on the other end. She again knocked on the door. Just then, a roar came out of the room and she stepped back in fear. She waited for a moment to call him but when another roar came from the room; she got afraid and rushed to the master bedroom. She locked the door of the master bedroom and jumped on the bed while covering her with the quilt while sobbing. She was afraid of what should have happened to Kang Ray. Why he was screaming and what that roar was? It has not happened to her for the first time. She had witnessed this incident for the second time but she was more afraid this time. 

Like every morning, when Lee Jia opened her eyes and turned her head, she saw the man was sitting on the couch and looking at her with his deep and firm eyes.
