Admission Test

1774 Words
The night spent knowing that my Mom's husband brought me to his private Villa instead of where my Mom was staying. Although it doesn't matter to me, it's weird that he didn't go to my mom's or she didn't call him to complain. Right now... I am having breakfast with him. His silent and unapproachable Aura doesn't allow me to look at him. Unintentionally, a sort of fear always works within me. ” What is it? Isn't the food your taste?" He suddenly asked placing his fork aside. " No. It's fine" Honestly, I don't feel like eating. As if, my all energy is being sucked. My body feels weak yet my chest is heavier. " Finish the food. We are going to school for your admission!" " We? I can go alone. Don't worry about it" I don't want to owe him more. He saved me twice. This time I can do it by myself. " I didn't ask you for your permission or opinion. Finish the food!" He left the table after giving a death glare at me. He must be pissed because of last night. Damn! It's so strange that he cares about me when my parents don't care. This is driving me crazy. Why would a total strange be so kind to me? Nothing comes out as free. Is he gaining something by helping me out? " Miss. It's getting late. Please finish the food!" The butler reminded me. But the more I look at the food, the more I feel weird. " Thanks! But I am stuffed. Can you please not tell Uncle about it? I will appreciate it!" " But you didn't have anything!" " It's fine!" I suppose to go to my part-time job this morning. But because of the admission, I told my boss that I would do the afternoon shift. I hate when my things get changed, and so is my schedule. However, Something inside of my chest got lightened. As if, I don't have anything to miss, or anyone to call. Today, I didn't say, Good morning, Dad! Hope you have a great day!" Today, I cried with a bitter smile, saying " I won't miss you anymore!" Can I keep the promise not to miss him? Missing Dad became a habit. Whenever I see a beautiful family, I miss him, my childhood. I wonder if I can even get a beautiful family. However, I have decided, I will never fall in love or marry anyone. What if, like me, my kids face this kind of fate? It's horrible. Heartbreakingly horrible. .................. " Please, fill out the form and go to Room No. 108." I looked at my Mom's husband when the principal of the school handed me a student form to fill out. He got special treatment from the principal as soon as he entered. Surely, rich people have their own power to dominate anywhere. Anyway, when I looked at him, surprising me, he sat next to me. Taking the form, he eyes down on the form before he places it on the table. " Fill out. Don't worry!" " OK!" I responded quietly. Unlikely yesterday, now I am drained and worn out. I scan the form. The inside of my heart felt the squeeze when I look at the parents' information part. Once again, I have to write lies. Some names which don't exist. I wrote everything possible without hesitation. I don't have parents that I confirmed yesterday, so why should I bother about it? However, I feel the sting in my bottom lip as I bite when I notice my guardian. I don't know about this part. I always used my parental information as an orphan whose parents died. But never actually needed any legal guardian's information. " What should I do with this part?" I asked the principal. " You can write down your parents' status. They are your guardians, right?" I wish... " No, I don't -" " I am her legal guardian." Without giving me any chance to talk, he grabs the form and signed his name on it, and put his name under my legal guardian information. " I think it's complete. You should go!" His voice resounds like he is ordering me. Is he pregnant or having periods? So many mood swings " OK!" I stood up. Although anxiety is killing me. But I know, only time will help me to get what I want. Since I didn't have that many bad marks in any subject except for mathematics. Probably I will be fine. Let's leave the overthinking to God. I should try first. [Leona's POV ends here] ......... Author's P. O. V... Pushing the eyewear on the middle of the bridge, Vasquez sits on the couch after having a conversation with the principal. His eyes trail to his assistant, who stands in front of him with an expression of seriousness. " We got the information about Young Miss!" " Where did she go?" he asked coldly raising his eyebrow. " Young Miss took a train and went to Downtown of St. Maria city. She went to a local park, However, someone admitted her to hospital in the evening. She was in the hospital for three hours before we found her!" " What do you mean? Did you get any further information about the reason for her hospitalization?" His eyebrows clutch as he didn't actually expect to hear something like that. Leona is a free soul, he knows that. But suddenly disappearing without any information on her Aunt's wedding day, he felt it a little strange. She was supposed to join her Aunt on her big day but she avoided it like she hated it. " Yes. We found the doctor who treated her." " Good. I will talk to him personally. I want to know what she is hiding from me. Keep an eye on her and her Aunt." He said standing up. " Boss!" " Anything more?" " Why did you become her legal guardian? So far I know you, you aren't someone who is willing to bring trouble for yourself. Her Aunt's presence in your life is already an obstacle to your success!" Vasquez looks at his assistant but doesn't have any plan to reply. " Go to your work. You don't have to worry about it!" " Where you are going?" Vasquez remains silent while heading toward room no. 108. He wants to see how she is doing. As he reaches the window of the room, he notices her concentrating on her question paper. Placing his hands inside his pocket, he keeps observing her. Not quite sure what kind of expression he is holding, however, there has a silent care in his eyes. Like, he likes to watch her from far away. " Mr. Vasquez! What are you doing here?" His attention gets distracted by a female voice. Turning towards the woman who is looking at him with amazement, he scans her head to toe. " You are?" Obviously, his ignorance about her identity makes her flustered and embarrassed. However, keeping her posture perfect, she smiles with red cheeks and walks a little closer. " We met last month. At your father's birthday party." " I see. Are you a teacher here?" The woman immediately nods as it is very unexpected that the CEO is asking her more than she thought he would. He never wastes his breath on something which doesn't bring profit. " Which subject do you teach?" " History! Is there anything I can help you with?" Her eyes spark. The cold CEO is talking with her in a normal tone. That's making her overwhelm. " No. I will excuse myself?" The teacher wanted to say something more but before that, he left her alone. However, his eyes never left Leona who is struggling with her math questions. After half an hour... " She did well on everything subject except for mathematics. I think she is great with extra curriculum activities more." The principal said showing him the answer Paper. Running a look over the solutions, Vasquez looks at Leona who is silently sitting outside of the office room while looking at nothing aimlessly. Her empty stare looks lonely and pathetic. " She filled her aim for the future is dancing!" " Yes. We tried to contact her old school. They said she is the best track athlete. She is an active member of the sprint and dancing club." " Sprint? She surely can run. " He mumbles while noting down every important point, he needs. " OK! I think you can confirm the admission since she did well. I don't want any more tests." " No. It's fine. As long as you wish, we can do anything for you!" Vasquez nods and walks out. He would have let her be admitted into the school without any examination. However, he wanted to know how brilliant a student she is since she is going to study with the country's best students who are willing to die but never let their dreams be shattered. They are crazy for study, so their obsession with becoming the best students ever. " Let's go home!" He said while walking towards the lobby. "When is the mock test?" She asked with hurried steps towards him. She is having a hard time balancing their walking side by side. " No more test. You will get notifications on this matter within a week. Next week, you will attend as a senior student here!" " Is it really okay? I heard this school doesn't take transfer students in the middle of the semester?" she asked being worried that he might use his power to get a seat for her. " Didn't you see there have lots of students who just took exams with you? They don't take random students." " But I am Random. I know I failed in mathematics!" she said, not feeling comfortable with her getting admitted into a school that is a heaven for lots of students. " You random? Are you looking down on my efforts? Also, You said your future dream is to be a dancer, so I don't think you should care about the subject of mathematics?" " Yet-" " From tomorrow, A math professor will visit your home. He will teach you until you can get better. So, don't disappoint me!" She nods following him quietly. Her life is turning to the point where she has started feeling so unreal. Her well-arranged life suddenly shattered into pieces. She feels she doesn't have any guesses about the future she is heading towards.
