Chapter 8

Mia's POV

"Ugh! School again" I muttered to myself.

I got ready real quick. And then, reality hit me hard. I don't know the way to school from here. And there is no one to drop me off. I just stood there not knowing what to do. I have been here probably twice or thrice. I am not familiar with routes.

"Jeez, here you are. I was waiting for you. C'mon let's leave before we get late" I heard a voice that made me smile.

"Thanks Tyler!" I said with a cheering smile.

"Nevermind" he winked at me that made me roll my eyes.

The whole ride to school was fun. Tyler wouldn't stop talking and I couldn't stop laughing.

He is basically that type of cool guy who everyone loves to hang out with. He is just awesome. I wonder who his mate is gonna be. Soon we reached school. We had to part ways since we have different classes.

"Mia!!!!!!" I heard a scream.

"Asshole! Can't you just talk instead of screaming" I scoffed.

"Are you dating Tyler?" Tal asked.

"Shhh no! Why would I?" I scoffed again.

"I just saw you both coming together, in HIS CAR" Tal said, quite pissed.

Tal and the Jaxon gang don't get along. Since they are practically the type of badass guys, Tal doesn't like them. He doesn't know that Jaxon is an Alpha and that makes him pretty dominating. I don't know if I may reveal it to him or not.

"I was running pretty late so he offered me a ride on the way to school." I made up a lie which is partially true.

"Oh!" Tal muttered but narrowed his eyes towards me.

Why is it so hard to fool besties?

"Mia!!!!!" I heard another scream. God! Don't my friends know how to talk rather than scream?

"I went to your house yesterday and your mom told me that you found your ma-" Ashley stopped mid sentence after looking at Tal.

"Found what?" Tal asked curious.

"New friend to hangout" Ashely said with bitterness filled words

"What the f**k! And who is it?" Tal scoffed.

"It's... Umm.. it's this girl who is ....." I was cut off when Jaxon came.

"I may not pick you up after school, just come home with Tyler again" Jaxon said and left without looking back.

"Great!" Lacy muttered

I turned around to see both my friends with their jaws hitting the floor. Oh no! Oh f**k no!!

They both looked at me, narrowed their eyes and went without muttering a word. Why did Jaxon have to come now? As if he really cared about me!

I sighed and made my way to my biology class. Time passed by quickly and it was already lunch time. I searched for my friends in the cafeteria and found them nowhere. Great! They're ignoring me now. What a day!!!

I didn't have any appetite so I threw my food in the garbage. I wasn't in the mood for school, so I decided to go home. Since the Head of our school is a werewolf, and I happen to be Jaxon's mate, he let me go.

I started walking in a random direction since I quite can't remember the direction we came from. Whichever alley is similar, I took it.

I walked till evening but still couldn't find where the pack house was. And now, Lacy is worried just as me since it started to get darker.

Yes, werewolves are strong but us, who don't have any particular rank.. doesn't have that strength. I sped up my pace when I saw a shadow following me.

That person was inching closer and closer. I started running instead of walking. Soon, I came to an alley where there are no street lights too. Before I turned back, the man had already reached me.

He was huge. Maybe a little less than Jaxon I guess. He started walking towards me and I stepped back. He took one step forward and I took a step back. The process repeated when my back hit a wall and he came much closer.

He trapped me in between the wall and his arms, not allowing me to run away.

"What is a girl like you doing here?" He whispered and I could smell alcohol. It made me almost gag on his face.

"Let us have fun," he said, coming closer to my face trying to kiss. I turned my head to my left.

"Don't worry. I'll make it quick" He said, gripping my face harder with his hand.

I knew I had to kick him and start running when he got closer.

I waited for some impact until I heard a Thud and I was freed. I opened my eyes and saw Jaxon. He hit that man and scared him away.I sat there without touching the ground because my heart was still thumping with fear.

"Shhh. That's ok. I'm here" Jaxon said while hugging me and that only made me lean closer.

I hugged him back with my dear life and cried into his chest while he was whispering some sweet words.

"This is all because of you" I whispered and resumed my cries.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Now please stop crying" Jaxon repeatedly said while rubbing my back. After some time my cries died and I was fine.

I looked at Jaxon and his eyes held an emotion I knew. Love, sadness and guilt. I didn't know why.

"I'm sorry it's because of me." He said again and I nodded. We walked back to the pack house which is surprisingly near. He left his room and so did I.

What was that? Jaxon was so soft? Really? To me?

Oh boy! I need to wake up before this dream eats me alive. But wait.. this isn't a dream. Mia! You're drunk. But I didn't drink I guess.

Screw it! Food is all I need. So I made my way towards the kitchen to have some ice cream.
