I didn’t know when I lost consciousness again, or how much time had passed, I just know that the sound of a muffled sob woke me up. I wasn’t fully conscious, but that sound… that sound was unmistakable. When I opened my eyes, my vision was still somewhat blurry, as if the world was covered in a layer of fog that I couldn’t shake off. I tried to focus, but the first thing I felt was the dull pain in my head, a throbbing that seemed to pulse with each heartbeat. I tried to move, but my body felt heavy, immobile, as if it didn’t belong to me.
The hospital room was silent, except for the sobbing that seemed to fill the entire space. Everything around me was calm, but inside me, chaos continued.
