Ember looks around the packed classroom. Kai has arranged himself so that he takes up two seats, it isn't hard with such a large frame. As soon as he looks up and catches her gaze, he smiles and slides over, shrinking himself, making the space beside him obvious, even though he didn't know she was coming, he subconsciously saved a seat for Ember. In the midst of all the dullness, his brightness has arrived. Kai surveys Ember’s face and sees the confident half smile plastered on her face once more. He knows that it is merely a mask, but he is glad that it is back, because at least people will think their words aren’t getting to her.
