Ember curls up like a ball on Kai’s lap, leaning against his chest, using him as an anchor so she doesn't drown. Once seated it is like the dam that has been threatening to burst, the wall that has been crumbling but has held on by a thread for far too long, finally breaks its restraint, taking the whole thing with it.
