"Who is that, Sook?" Song Jae wondered aloud. Before she could call out to the boy, he turned around, and their eyes met. Song Jae's face immediately drained of color, turning deathly pale.
"Sook, Miss! What's wrong with you?" Sook asked, concern etched on her
l face.Song Jae was lost in her own world, oblivious to Sook's words. Meanwhile, Song Min walked over to Song Jae and Sook to investigate what was happening to her miss.
She had been following the carriage driver to find a suitable parking spot when they arrived at the shop. "Since Song Jae was still dazed, they guided her inside the shop.
Sook and Song Min called for a sales girl to bring water for Song Jae.
The salesgirl was taken aback by Song Jae's pale complexion and became flustered, stumbling over her words and struggling to react calmly."
"Noticing the sales girl was still in a state of shock, Sook gently touched her arm to bring her back to reality.
'Quickly, bring the water here, okay, miss?' Song Sook urged. The sales girl hurried off to fetch the water. After sook put a few drops in Song Jae's mouth and sprinkled some on her face, Song Jae finally snapped out of her daze state."
"Noticing Min and Sook's worried expressions, Song Jae realized she had overreacted to the encounter. After all, there were many people who shared similar faces in this world. 'I'm okay Sook,' by the way, 'who was that boy I saw outside earlier?'
Sook quickly replied, 'that was Childe Kim, or rather, the heir apparent of the grand tutor mansion Kim Jin.
' Upon hearing the name, Song Jae's mind flashed back to her previous life's fiancé, who shared the same name.
She remembered that this Childe Mim was the same person who had recklessly struck her with his carriage on the day of the festival."
"Song Sook, keep your voice down," Song Jae whispered, still agitated. "I'm sorry, I was just too upset by what he did." Song Jae and Song Min nodded understandingly.
"No worries, just make sure you don't behave like this outside again." Song Jae took a deep breath, trying to calm down.
Although Childe Kim shared the same name and face as her former fiancé who had betrayed and killed her, she reminded herself that they were not the same person.
As long as he didn't get in her way, she would avoid him. With a newfound determination, Song Jae turned her attention to the clothes rack and began selecting garments she liked.
"She decided to wear only white and blue clothes from now on, as white symbolized purity, like a dove, and blue represented trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, stability, and intelligence.
She wanted everyone to know that in this life, she would not be gullible and would not trust others blindly; instead,
She would approach everything with discernment and wisdom." Her father had given her limited funds for clothes, saying a tailor would arrive later to take her measurements or she could buy new clothes.
"Song Jae didn't need to do much shopping now, but she had to refresh her wardrobe since the original host's clothes weren't to her taste.
Unfortunately, the original host had a questionable sense of style, and her clothes resembled those worn by girls from the brothel houses."
"Such clothes were also inappropriate for a twelve-year-old girl, as her body hadn't developed yet. Wearing clothes that accentuated the bust was humiliating, as there was nothing to accentuate.
Song Jae selected about ten silk garments and chose some matching jewelry. After paying, she decided it was time to head home."
"Perhaps the tailor summoned to sew her clothes was already waiting for her at home, so she decided to end her shopping trip for the day.
As she exited the shop, she scanned the area for that familiar figure but didn't spot him. Song Jae then walked towards the carriage and headed home."
"After arriving home, Song Jae instructed Song Min and Song Sook to bring the clothes to her room. As she noticed a servant girl approaching, Song Jae decided to inquire about the whereabouts of the Second Madam."
"Or perhaps the Second Madam would claim she was acting confidently because she had her father's backing." "She didn't want her already tarnished reputation to be further ruined, so she couldn't dare to keep everyone waiting any longer."
"As she approached the flower pavilion, she spotted Madam Jin, Song Nabi, Song Nari, and two daughters of a concubine seated there. From a distance, song nabi promptly rose to greet her, embodying the warmth of a devoted younger sister. 'Sister, we were waiting for you!
Father mentioned you had gone out.' 'Yes, I went out to attend to something very important.' 'I see the designer has already arrived?' 'Yes, come, sister, let's find the perfect dress for you.'
'No need to worry; I plan to revamp my entire wardrobe, so I need to review the designs first.'"
"After saying that, Song Jae walked over to the clothing designer and requested the style handbook. Once she received the book, she browsed through it and selected around twenty designs that suited her taste. She then returned the book to the designer."
"Now, she needs to consider the materials. 'I want all the colors to be white and blue,' she stated. 'Is there anything else you need, miss?' the designer asked. 'That will be all for now,' Song Jae replied.
Her sister chimed in, 'sister, your taste in clothes has really changed so much.
Remember when I tried to offer advice on suitable styles, and you wouldn't listen? I told you before that you would look great in white, and blue.'"
"'I want to be like a dove - pure, white as an angel, and free as the ocean,' she said wistfully. Song Nari eyes widened in surprise.
'Wow, it seems like you've changed so much, even my mother and I can hardly recognize you.' Song Nabi couldn't resist the opportunity to tease, 'But why the dove? Are you implying you're not pure now?' She smiled mischievously.
Song Jae quickly clarified, 'When I say as pure as a dove, I mean I aspire to be someone treasured by the gods themselves.'" "Just as people adore doves and treasure them as if sent by the gods."
"After saying that, Song Jae took her leave. Two weeks flew by in the blink of an eye, and it was time to prepare for the flower gathering. However, it coincided with empress dowager Yesun's birthday celebration, which required the attendance of all ministers and their wives."
"Early in the morning, the children were excited to enter the palace, especially Song Nabi and Song Nari. After their classes ended, the whole family began preparing for the palace visit.
Song Nabi wore a stunning purple dress adorned with pearls, which complemented her skin beautifully.
Meanwhile, Song Nari opted for a vibrant red dress. When Song Jae emerged, dressed and ready, the entire family was left stunned in awe. She looked breathtakingly lovely, like a fairy stepped out of a painting."
