Seven Denver Nancy is sipping her coffee, reading the Lake Starlight Journal. I swear, she, Grandma Dori’s senior center, and Liam must be the only ones keeping that newspaper in business. She lifts her head up. “Good morning,” she says, placing her reading glasses on the paper and heading to the coffeepot. “I’m going to say this again. You’re not my personal assistant.” I drop my computer bag and run over to the coffeepot before she can pour me a cup. My move strips her bright smile off her face. “I always got Chip’s coffee.” We’ve been over this, but I also understand that she’s missing her twenty-year sidekick.
