Turning her Into a "Perfect Lady"

Ecean's sarcasm

Avery POV

“Uhm, Ecean…” I started a conversation with her.

I just got out from my room after washing my face and brushing my teeth. We are now at the dining table.

“Hmm?” Ecean answered.

“Uhm, here is the money that Auntie just gave me for our weekly budget” I said then I handed her the money. I really don’t know what to say since I keep remembering the memory from last night.

“Okay” she said then she pick up the money with her fingers. Two fingers. As if she’s holding a dirty laundry.

“When will you go to the grocery store?” She ask.

“Huh? Aren’t we supposed to go there now?” I said.

“Do you know where the grocery store is?” she ask.

“Huh? Aren’t you supposed to know that? Since you are the one who live here. I am new here. Of course I don’t know where it is” I said.

Is she crazy? I know she know that I just came here.

“I don’t go there. Maids are the one who’s in charge of buying it” She said.

Aish. We got a new problem this time. How would we supposed to buy our food if both of us didn’t know where to buy it?

“Ah!” I said as I come up with a great idea “Let’s call auntie” I suggested.

“Auntie is not always here. She is busy roaming around with different countries. She barely go to grocery stores or market places. She always ordered that from our maids” She said.

Awwee… what a huge problem we got here.

“Do you have any phone numbers of your maids?” I ask.

“No” she answered.

Although, Ecean has a beautiful voice, I still feel afraid when I am looking at her. I really feel like I am looking and talking with a white lady.

“Hmm… how can we buy our grocery then?”

Ecean just shrug her shoulder. AIsh, Auntie. You should have think about it.

I have a guts on scolding auntie in my head. Hahaha but yeah, she should have at least think about it.

“Should we go outside? And just ask some people who’ll we met about where can we find a grocery store?” I suggested.

But Ecean showed me something on her phone. It was a google map.

“Why bother yourself asking some stranger when we have google maps? What are they for if you will not use them” she said.

I suddenly feel offended. As if she’s saying that I should use my head and not my mouth.

“Yeah, right. Sorry” was all I just said.

“5.2 km from this house” Ecean said.

“That’s far. How could we go there?” I ask.

“Maybe by using our feet to walk? Or renting for a car? Or drive a motorbike? Anything will do” she answered.

Hooo… okay, relax Avery. She’s jus answering your question.

But, hey! Why do I feel offended? Is it because of the tone of her voice? She makes me look like I’m stupid.

“Can you drive?” I ask

“Drive what?” She answer

“Maybe a motorbike or a car? Any vehicle with wheels” I said. Huh! It’s my time for me to turn the table.

“Of course you should drive vehicle with wheels. If there is no wheels how can a car works?” She said.

Arghhh! I though I can out smart her. But it looks like, she’s flipping again the table.

“Yeah, yeah right” Was all I can say. But in my mind, I wanna choke her or pull her tongue. Can she just answer me without a sarcasm?

“I can drive a motorbike and a car. But I don’t have a license yet” She said.

“Wow, great. While me, I have a license but I can’t drive any of those” I stated.

“How could you get your license when you are not qualify?” She ask.

“Uhm… Well, my father ask his friends for me to have it? Since it is the only valid ID that I have aside from my student ID” I said

“I should report you to terminate your license. That’s illegal. You should have enrolled first in a driving school for you to learn. Than to get a license when you are not even qualify. There are a lot of people out there who is studying and doing their best just to pass the written examination and actual driving exam from driving schools for them to get their license. But here you are, you easily get your license without putting effort” Ecean said. My eyes widened in fear. Wait, is she serious? No, no. I shouldn’t share something like that to her! Aish! Stupid mouth of mine!

“But, I am not using my license. I did not even volunteer to drive because I know I am not yet capable. I am just using my license as my valid ID” I said. It is true. I need another ID aside from my student ID to open a bank account. I can’t use my ID as my permanent valid ID because when I graduated in college, school IDs will not be valid anymore. I need an ID that I can use for a long run.

“But still, that’s unfair” she said.

Aish, why do I feel like I am being scolded by my mom?

“Tss, but for now, we don’t have a choice but to use my license if we wanted to eat” I said.

As if we have a choice though. 5.2 km is a far from us. We need a vehicle to get there.

“Let’s make it like this,” I said. I have a plan on how we could use my license while she’s the one driving.

“What?” Ecean ask

“Hmm, we will use my license if we saw any checkpoints then let’s just tell the enforcer that I don’t feel better that’s why I let you drive the car” I said

“Or why don’t I just teach you on how to drive so that we couldn’t have any problem?” she said.

“Do you think we have a time for that driving lesson? We still need to cook for our breakfast and lunch.” I said.

I don’t know why but, I just met Ecean now and this is our first time to talk but, I wanted to kill her now. Kidding. I am just annoyed with her sarcasm. Grr. How can I change her if I will be the one who might ran out of patience? Maybe I’ll just tie her up so that I could put a make up on her and I will make sure to cute her hair. She really looks like a white lady with those hair that is covering her face.
