Auntie is back

Avery POV

Another day started. The sun’s light wakes me up.

“Hmm,” I moaned. I still want to sleep more.

Last night, Ecean didn’t really cook. That leaves me to have some cup noodles for my dinner. Good thing I bought those in case of emergency. Auntie mentioned before that Ecean never ate unhealthy foods. That’s why I never bothered to ask her if she want some. Also, she didn’t even come out when I told her that we’ll be having dinner. I guess I got her mad for invading her room for the second time.

I hear my phone ringing. Argh, who is it? Who will call me early in the morning?

I let the phone ring since I wanted to sleep some more. And If that call is important, it will ring again.

After a few seconds of its stop in ringing, it rings again.

Arghh, who the hell would call me this morning?

I look at my phone but I see it came from an unknown number. Arggh, who is this?

I answered the call,

“Hello?”

“What a beautiful day it is, right, darling? Good moooooorning~” she said.

I look at my phone again, wondering who the heck called me. She’s so weird.

“Who is this?” I asks.

“it’s me, the most elegant Auntie in the world,” she said. Wow, she’s a little narcissist, isn’t she?

“Auntie? Who’s auntie?” I keep on thinking about who’s Auntie, is it? Is it from my father’s side or my mother’s side?

“I am on the way home right now. You’re lucky I am in the mood to update you that I am coming home. But this will be the last time, okay? Next time I come home, I would definitely surprise you. I am hoping to see an improved Ecean once I got there, okay? See you~ good morning again, sweetheart” she said then she hung up the call.

Wait a minute, what?

‘Ecean’s auntie… Ecean… Ecean… Oh shooott!’

I suddenly get up on my bed.

‘I need to go to Ecean’s room! I need to change her! If Auntie didn’t see an improvement in her, then I am doomed!’

I didn’t knock on Ecean’s room. I instantly opened it. I don’t care what would I see once I saw her. I have already seen her n***d. There is nothing I should afraid of.

“Eceaaan!!” I shouted while running out of breath.

I think I woke Ecean up because of it.

“Ugh, what now?” she ask. One eye open, while looking at me. She looks so irritated, annoyed, and mad at me. Who wouldn’t? if you’re in the middle of your sleep and someone wakes you up.

“I promise, I won’t barge into your room ever again. Just, please give me this moment” I said. Begging her.

“Ha? What are you talking about?” she asks. I wonder doesn’t she feel uncomfortable with her hair covering her face even when sleeping?

“Auntie would come. Please, please wear something nice” I said. Pulling her up to her bed.

“What’s so special with her that I need to wear something nice? It’s not like she came home after 30 years for me to welcome her wholeheartedly” Ecean said then she covers her face with a pillow.

Shiizz, If I won’t make Ecean agree to wear something nice, and Auntie saw that there is no improvement on her, I might get kicked out instantly.

“Just please, I’m begging you,” I said. I go to her wardrobe, looking for a nice dress for her.

‘What the heck!’ I was surprised to see her wardrobe. All of her clothes are the same. White and black loose sweatshirts and maroon, black, gray, and white loose pajamas. This was all of her clothes.

She’s the niece of a multi-millionaire and this is all she has? Arghh, this can’t be.

I ran to my room and find a dress that is suited for her. I choose a maong short and a white fitted shirt.

This is perfect for her to wear.

I ran back to Ecean’s room and pulled her up.

“Argh, what is it this time? Do you want to die?” She asks. She looks so scary and like she will really mean whatever she’s saying. But, I need to stand strong, this is now or never. I might get kicked out of this house or I will pay a triple amount of rent. I need not to disappoint my parents.

“Just kill me later. I promise I will give you a knife for you to use” I said. Then I started to undress her.

“Hey! What are you doing?” she asks. Stopping me from what I am doing. “That’s harassment,” she said.

“Err, sorry. I was too desperate, uhm… please wear this” I said, handing the clothes to her. Gosh, I lost thought about it.

Ecean just stare at me.

“I will wait for you outside, please, wear these clothes for me,” I said.

“I’m home” I hear Auntie shout. Her voice echoed all over the house.

“Shiz!” I panicked. “I’ll wait for you downstairs, Auntie called me that she’ll be coming home and I guess she arrived now. Let’s have breakfast together,” I said.

I feel so nervous right now. I thought Auntie will be coming home this afternoon, I didn’t expect that she will arrive early than we expected.

“Good morning auntie” I greeted. Auntie smiled at me then she comes closer and she made our cheeks touch.

“Good morning, Avery, where’s Ecean?” she asks.

“Uhm, she’ll be coming down,” I said, smiling at her.

“Oh, that’s good to hear. Come, I bought us breakfast” she said. Then I followed her to the kitchen.

“Uhh, what makes you come home so suddenly?” I ask.

“Because I miss you and my niece, you know how hard I tried to overcome my homesickness,” she said dramatically.

Right, as if I will believe her. I know she came back because she wanted to tease me.

“So, can I expect an improvement to my dearest Ecean?” she whispered. I smile nervously.

“I hope so,” I said. Then few seconds later, Ecean joined is.

Auntie and I look surprise.
