Battling the monster

 After that, Pluto and Milla walked back to the village entrance to join with the rest of the people. By now, the monster is already extremely near to the people. Clyde who is standing in front of the people shouted out loud.

“By the blessings of the sun God, I will use the power granted to me to help the people!”

After he said that, Clyde's body is covered with a red glow. Of course, it is far from his ultimate form which he will then radiates insanely high temperature that makes him looked like the sun. That is also where his title of the ‘sun hero’ comes from.

When Clyde finished his transformation, the monsters seemed to be able to feel his surge in power and they seemed to go another way to avoid him. Clyde is now holding another sword than the holy sword that is tucked away on his waist. The sword itself seemed to be glowing red as if it was just come out from the furnace.

The young Clyde seemed to be someone else entirely as his timidness and nervousness are gone. Replaced by valiant bravery as he held the sword.

“Those who can fight, protect the village. I will go forward and charge at the enemy.”

Lance who is seeing Clyde’s behavior smiled.

“Exactly just like in the previous life, he is charging ahead, leaving the vulnerable villagers behind. In fact, the best way to fight in this kind of situation is to just run away. Clyde couldn’t save everyone based on his current ability and the number of monsters attacking the village.”

As mentioned previously, the monster wave consists of wild boar, horned rabbits, and goblins. The wild boars are the vanguard as their enormous strength is able to take down the village’s wall and bring houses down. The horned rabbit might be small and goes unnoticed but one wrong move and their horn might drill a hole on someone’s body and might even claim their life. As for the goblins, they have some intelligence and they are probably the leaders of the attack as some of them are riding on top of the wild boar. Some even bring simple clubs and knives as their weapon.

The moment the goblin saw the aura that is emanating from Clyde, they are feeling pressured, and then the formation of the attacking monster immediately broken. Only some of the monsters are moving forward to face Clyde and that is just to hold him back while the rest of them is moving towards left and right to aim for the rest of the villager.

“Don’t you dare!”

Clyde seemed to be enraged seeing that but there’s nothing he can do. He needs to first eliminate the monster that is heading towards him before he can kill the rest. He only hopes that the people of the village can fend off the monster or it will be disastrous.

“I have no choice but to end this quickly! Take this you monsters!”

Clyde is anxiously finishing off the monster one by one very quickly. Although it was his first battle, there is no hesitation or awkwardness. As previously mentioned before, there’s a reason to why he is able to pull the hero’s sword. Natural battle sense and unwavering heart in front of hardship.

The village’s head group is prepared to face the monster. Although they seemed to put their hope on Clyde, most of the guards of the village are in this group. As for the second group of village’s head rival, they are not as prepared but they need to fight for their survival. For the group of halflings, they are just screamed in panic. Most of the halflings has been discriminated and they are only handling miscellaneous job. Only some of them have battle experience while the rest are malnourished people. Seeing the flock of monsters, they can only quietly accept their fate.

The second group of monsters that separated from the first one that is fighting Clyde was about to head towards the halflings group because they looked like an easy target, however, at that point, Lance did something with his hand and the movement of the monsters suddenly changed. Instead of attacking the halflings group, they are destroying the village’s wall and the houses.

Not to mention that the second group of monsters, some are heading towards the village’s head group and the village’s head rival group. It was as if the halflings group isn’t even there. When it happened, Milla looked at Lance, and seeing the confidence look on his face, she knows that it has something to do with him.

The halflings group was a bit dumbfounded at first seeing that the monster just ignored them. Their expression even changed to a happy one when they saw the village’s head group and his rival that is suffering from the monster attack.

The village’s head group can hold out for a bit since there are some people that are capable of basic fighting knowledge. As for the village’s head rival group, the monster easily causes chaos as they spread out and become an even easier target for the monsters.

The wild boar charge is full of power as the people who get hit by it was pushed backward five to ten meters. The horned rabbit is attacking those who stumbled down and with their sharp horn, they easily killed those who are caught unguarded. The goblins are even more brutal as they are swinging the weapons on their hand and managed to inflict a heavy wound on every attack.

The village’s head rival group can be considered done by now. Some of them realized that that the halflings group is not attacked and tried to run towards them. However, how can Lance let them escape? As this is the battlefield, there’s no shortage of blood. All of the people that are trying to run towards the halflings group found themselves unable to move. If someone takes a closer look, there’s a rope made from blood acting as a chain and pinned them down on the spot.

The monsters that have finished attacking the village’s head rival are now heading towards the village’s head group. Facing double, the pressure from the monsters, the defense of the village head group quickly breached. People start to fall victim and soon it is time for Lance to start acting.

At this moment, Lance also started to direct the monster to attack the halflings group by releasing a sweet blood smell that monsters like. It would be too suspicious if only the halflings group managed to survive. He also doesn’t want for the group of people to be too much as there will be less chance to interact with Clyde and got accepted into his group.

The halflings group that is happy earlier now turned to panic as they see the monsters finally going to attack them. But how can the weak and malnourished halflings group fight against them when the normal villager can’t?

Soon after, victims start to appear on the halflings group but it was all under Lance’s control.
