Scarlett's POV

"So? anong ibig mong sabihin ha?!" I said not letting my guard off, but as if he caught me, his grin grew wider and—

"Maswerte ka dahil hindi ka tinuluyan ng opponent mo kanina, nga pala for information, hindi galing sa akin ang roses na 'yan." He said, reaching out for the roses and put it on my lap.

 I frowned "Kanino?" I asked, curiously thinking of whoever gave this.

"Basahin mo yung letter."

Tumingin ako sa roses at sa ginta n'on ay may nakasiksik na itim na letter. Kinuha ko 'to at tinignan.

"Who the f**k would give me this kind of s**t?" I asked as I open the letter, still, no one in mind would possibly do this.

Nang nakita ko ang nakasulat dito mas naiis at nagalit ako dahilan para icrumpled ko 'to. I threw the bouquet hard on the floor, enough for it to scatter around.

"Huh! ang lakas ng loob niya!" Nakasulat sa black letter na 'yon ang—

'Get well soon b***h, cuz we’re not yet done.

"Oh? kanino galing? inabot lang 'yan sa akin e." Clark asked acting all curious, trying to peeking on the crumpled paper I’m holding. Pero hindi ko ‘yon pinakita at pinanlisikan siya ng mata. What’s this? How’d he managed to deliver this s**t to me? Don’t tell me he’s working now under that b***h?

"Tell me! pinatay mo ba talaga si Audrey five years ago?!!" I asked furiously.

"Huh?" Argh! Here he goes again! Acting innocent!

"Spill it!" I demanded. After all, I have the right to question him because I hired him to do so.

"Hmm...wait sa dami ng pinapatay mo hindi ko na maalala yung pangalan nila ang idagdag pa yung mga  pinatay ko from other clients, sino ba si Audrey?" He asked, trying hard to remember who’s Audrey.

"Ahh! Was she Xaviere’s wife? From five years ago—" He enthusiastically said when he finally remembered that made me even madder.

"Ugh! Crap! Hindi na sila mag asawa! sinuko na ni Audrey and wedding ring kay Xav—"

"But.” I stopped when his tone became colder. I looked at him, and for the first time in a while—I can see him dropping off his smile.

Na parang may nasabi akong mali—as he lets out sinister aura…

“Hindi pa nag file si Xaviere ng divorce kaya hindi pa official na single si Xaviere." He uttered, looking completely different from earlier. It’s as if he has this switch personality. No…my brother…is just f*****g twisted.

"Ugh, this is annoying! After all these years!" But he is f*****g right! Ugh! Xaviere why can’t you let that b***h go?!

"Sagutin mo ako ng maayos, Clark. Pinatay mo ba talaga si Audrey?" I asked. 'yon lang naman ang dahilan kung bakit ko siya pinapunta dito. Were the evidence before, fabricated?

Or, the encounter with that b***h a while ago just pure coincidence?

Gusto kong makasigurado, alam kong maraming magkakamukha sa mundo but that woman keeps bothering me.

Then, Clark looking straight at me tilted his head and smile cheerfully as if he’s switching his gears on.

Ugh, seeing him not smiling makes me feel threatened for a moment.

"Are you sure you’re asking me that hilarious question? Of course, I killed her and the autopsy proven it already. Bakit mo natanong? minumulto ka na ba nya?" He laughingly asked.

Minumulto? Ugh. I hate to think this but it kinda feels like that. But comparing that b***h to Audrey—s**t.

"Argh! cut that off Clark!" If she’s not Audrey, then I have to know her the f**k she is. If Xaviere meets her for sure, he’ll chase her—assuming that she’s Audrey kahit matagal na siyang nakalibing.

"Okay! pero bakit mo naman natanong? samantalang five years ago na ang nakalipas" He asked curiously, picking the apple from the fruits he just brought.

"Ugh, I encountered a b***h. Looking exactly like her, at first akala ko bumangon na sa hukay si Audrey but—after what f*****g happened. I know that they’re far too different from each other." I said, remembering how the b***h easily beat me up.

“Oh, where did you—“ He was about to pry for some detailed explanation but I stopped him—f*****g s**t! I feel weak!

“Ugh, enough I’m tired! You can go now.”  I said dismissing him as I not at my nurse, telling her to lead Clark out of the room.

With that, Clark took a bite on the apple as he stands up. Walking away, he stopped and turned around, looking at me he said—

 "Oh, since I think it’ll be a while since tatanggap ako ulit ng trabaho. I just want to wish you luck on getting on  Xaviere’s good side and hopefully, you’ll do a good job on surpassing the deceased…it’s such a pity, seeing you desperately clinging on him for years but you still couldn’t get a hold of him. Pftt—ciao." And with that he left—flustered with rage, I grabbed the vase on the side table at hinagis yon but unfortunately, he’s already gone at nabasag yung vase sa pagtama sa pinto.

“Arghhh!” I furiously shouted looking down in frustration.

Damn, Audrey! How did you manage to put your hands on Xaviere that until death ikaw pa rin!

I stopped naalala ko nalang na may kailangan pala akong gawin. Tinawag ko yung isa kong tauhan na nasa labas na kanina sana ay uutusan ko kung hindi lang biglang lumitaw si Clark.

That scum! He must have been hired by that b***h para siya mismo magpadala ng bouquet.

“Gather all information that you can dig about the b***h I just had race with! Kahit gano pa kaliit yung details, I want to know it! Understood?” With that umoo yung tauhan ko at mabilisang umalis para gawin yung utos ko.

Fucking b***h! Let’s see who hunts who.

 Xaviere's POV

"Sir, please! Don't do this to me! Sir!”

The woman kept on pleading until two of my men dragged her out of the office. Saktong pumasok naman ang butler ko dala dala ang mask nagagamitin ko.

“Does this mean, she’s fired?” He asked.

"Yeah, find a male secretary this time." I ordered, getting the mask on the silver plate his holding.

The woman earlier had just tried her luck and abruptly confessed her feeling to me—Saying things she shouldn’t have.

He bowed his head. saying 'yes' at derederetso na akong lumabas ng office. As soon as I stepped out of it, my men alerted themselves and bowed their heads I as walk passed the hallway. Agad rin silang sumunod palabas sa likod ko ng malagpasan ko sila.

In the mafia and gangster world, my name is all over the corner. The instant I accepted grandpa’s will, the instant my security doubled itself. Not that I can’t guarantee my safety myself but just purely because of hierarchy, I’m obligated to be guarded at all times. Thanks to that I don’t have to personally deal with a nuisance like Melanie.

“Good evening, sir.” One of my men greeted me na nakasakay ngayon tabi ng driver. Nang makalabas na kami ng gate ng mansion, he handed me an envelope.

“What’s this?” I asked habang binubuksan ‘to, and when I saw the pictures na nasaloob nito.

It promptly piques my interest.

“Melanie was defeated and spared.” He said shortly ng makita niyang tinitignan ko isa isa yung mga pictures.

After what happened to Audrey, I promised myself not to get entangled up with Melanie. So, as to taking advantage of the high security they gave me, I put a ban notice on her, I couldn’t just kill her off yet because it might disrupt the family’s hierarchy and could expose greater war.

I can’t just risk the order just for the sake of killing her, after all, she has these deep connections. Those f*****g bastards.

 (A/N: Remember the opposing families nung first chapter ng MTAMG? Sila yung may gusting ipakasal si Melanie kay Xaviere to gain control and support from family ties once na married na sila. Till now, because mafia family isn’t just a composition of a single-family, may pyramid of authority that means may deeper power struggle na hanggang ngayon issue nila.)

“Why was she spared?” I asked, habang tinitignan yung kuha ni Melanie na nakasubsob sa putikan, habang apak apak ng isang babae yung ulo niya.

“Who’s this other person?” I asked ng mapansin kong walang maayos na kuha sa babaeng bumogbog kay Melanie. The only thing I could recognize is the mask she was wearing.

“According to our men that were present at the incident earlier, said that she’s Scarlett Eun. Directly affiliated with the Eun clan.”  He said.

“Eun clan, you mean the Euns? Did Melanie messed up with them?” That’s the most possible reason kaya hindi siya pinatay, if there’s no reason then she should’ve been killed by now.

Now, what? Ano nanamang ginagawa ng babaeng yon?!

Wala ng nasagot yung tauhan ko because according to them, mabilis rin siyang umalis sa race after finishing it. They even said that Scarlett wasn’t supposed to be Melanie’s opponent. But somehow provoked Melanie para makipag race siya sa kaniya.

“I don’t think that’s just a pure coincidence.” I mumbled to myself, the more I think about it, that’s not just a fluke that a direct Eun would approach Melanie and beat her up. Lalo na’t siya pa ang nagdecide na wag siyang patayin.

Anyway, I get a feeling that things would unfold itself tonight. Not to mention, that I’m about to meet the Godfather of Euns there. It infiltrates me that Euns are so mysterious, the longer the conflict takes between us, the longer it takes to figure out what they’re up to.

Mga ilang minuto lang ay nakarating na kami sa venue. This party that’s being held annually to gather mafias, gangsters, or anyone that has a reputation from the underworld is encouraged to come just so in a day—disputes would stop.

That being said, is the very reason why I planned to interact with the Euns because this is the only chance I could think of, that won’t ignite any conflicts. For the last four years, nagpapadala lang sila ng representative from their clan but this year is different. Because this year, personal na pupunta ang Godfather ng mga Euns—I could just simply let it go but—

After what happened with Melanie, I couldn’t just brush off the thought that there’s something suspicious. Not that Melanie has close ties with our side but she has some connections in it that could pull some strings. So, it’s been bothering me since I got here, if Mr.Eun’s presence here has something to do with it.

Surely, a Eun won’t just get worked up if someone like Melanie would provoke them but seeing that a Eun spared someone like Melanie is suspicious enough to be wary.

Seems like, I shouldn’t just sit idly and just cut off some ties with Melanie. But, If ever I’m too late to realize—I could assume that there’s something brewing.

Now, I have to take my guard up when I’m about to approach—

"Hey! Xaviere!" Someone just called me, which made me snapped back to reality.

“Suho, hey.” I greeted him, he then left his date and approached me.

"What the heck? You’re still in that vibe?" Suho sarcastically said give me a glass of wine.

"Anyway, it’s good to see you crawling out your cave! Here, cheers." He said pertaining to locking myself away from them.

"Yeah, thanks." I simply said, accepting the glass habang tinitignan yung ibang gueast na nasa loob na ng hall.

Now, where’s Mr. Eun?

"Still colder than ever huh? So, how are you doing?" He asked

"Fine as always, nasan na nga pala yung iba?" I asked pertaining to the gang.

"Nasa loob na sila. Tara, let's go inside." He inviting said.

I decided to come along habang nililibot ko ang paningin ko but Mr. Eun’s still nowhere to be found. Then, I asked my men through an earpiece to notify me kapag nakita na nilang dumating si Mr. Eun.

The party is elegant as expected, but you can’t expect people to just change and forget conflicts overnight. So, as I passed by I could definitely feel people getting cautious just by my presence.

That’s right, fear. Fear me. That way, no one would dare to get in my way.

"Ganyan ba talaga ang epekto ng Mafia boss? Geez, if looks could kill we’d be bleeding by now." Suho mockingly said.

"Yeah, yeah, I see you still don’t change, huh?" I said half sneering at his humor.

"Well, I can’t say the same to you." Someone said from the back, and when I turned around kung saan galing yung boses na yon, there I saw them approaching us.

“Oh! Akala ko you’d be waiting for us at our table?” Suho asked.

“We got bored.” Kai said directly looking at me.

"Kamusta?" Kris asked getting between us, getting his arms across my shoulders.

"I think I’m doing fine." I simply said.

“Damn, this party’s security is at it’s best huh?” Suho said while looking at the staff’s party confiscating all types of metal from people who just got through a detector before entering. They do this, to ensure everyone’s safety, knowing everyone here has their own kinds of business.

The party isn’t just about wearing masks, but also about its proud main event. An auction of rarest items—

"Hey Xaviere, you look matured a lot—dang the stress must be eating you up, huh?" Xiumin said looking at me from head to toe.

"Yeah, it’s as if you look way mature than your age.” D.O muttered, and as if on cue nag tawanan sila.

And at that very moment, I knew—I couldn’t cope up with them anymore. It’s as if that moment, I saw how far I am from them.

Napansin nilang hindi ako tumatawa kaya tumigil sila and looked at me.

"What's with the face dude? why not try to smile?" Baekhyun trying to kick in a joke.

"Ah, sorry I’m just thinking about something else." I said trying to divert the topic.

“Is it about the auction—”

"Ah—sorry, I have some matters to attend to. Enjoy yourselves, gentlemen." Nagulat sila sa agad kong pag alis, seems like they didn’t expect that I’d be getting myself out of the circle immediately. But suddenly, ng hindi pa ako nakakalayo, Kai grabbed my shoulder stopping me from walking away.

I looked at him, anticipating what he’d tell.

 "What the f**k? How I wish I could just punch the f**k out of you. Aren’t you still getting over with Audrey? She’s dead, man!” Kai said, with that agad nagkaron ng tension. Agad namang pumagitna samin sila Kris at Suho, hinila rin naman palayo nila D.O si Kai palayo sa akin ng makita nilang nakatingin na samin yung mga staff at ibang guests.

Habangako, nakatingin lang sa direksyon niya hanggang mahila siya palabas nila D.O.

“She’s dead, man!”

As if a ringing bell, the last part he said keeps on repeating itself till Audrey’s thousands of faces flashed through my mind.

Napahawak ako sa ulo ko at napayuko, pushing Kris and Suho away.

“I’m alright. Thank you.” I said at agad na silang tinalikuran ng wala na silang masabi.

He doesn't know anything so who gives him the right to say that?! Audrey’s dead… but—I can’t stop loving her.

Out of frustration, I decided to walk faster derederetso papunta sa pinaka malapit na balcony na nakita ko ng biglang may babae akong nakabangga.

I didn’t spare a glance, at mabilisang nagkalad till someone from my back grabbed my wrist.

"What a gentleman." A woman’s voice. Nilingon ko siya at doon napansin ko ring nasa amin ang mga mata ng mga guests na nandito.

I sigh and looked at her giving her a glare that everyone seems to fear—but

The glare turned into stare…

Her lips, nose, and jaw resembles—

"Audrey." I uttered looking intently at her masked face that only covers her eyes, I can’t and won’t forget Audrey’s face! If she’s alive—she’ll probably gonna looked the same.
