Ashley looked down on her plate, the food in her mouth suddenly tasted like sawdust and had become difficult to swallow. What was the problem? Surely, telling them the truth about her feelings and her goals should not be taboo. She did not have to feel like her whole future is being placed under a huge axe, ready to be chopped into pieces.
“Hey, whatever it is, it’s going to be fine babe,” Ashton whispered, leaning over to give her a soft kiss on the temple.
“Are you going to be fine with it?” she countered, unable to stop herself. She stared straight into his gorgeous eyes, her heart hammering loudly in her chest.
“I love you” Ashton replied while giving her a reassuring smile.
