Shekinah was listening but didn't catch a word nor understand the eulogy of the people that spoke for her mom and dad. Her mom had lots of friends, she made friends because every women loved her.
Her dad's friends, from business to the politics, they also delivered some brief eulogy for him. They were all said, how great the President is. They were all said how pure the heart of the President is. They were all said, how smart and wise he was as a businessman, senator and as a President. But none of them said, how great he was as a father. None of them said how great he was as a leader of their home.
And that, just proved that these people that talks like they knew her father, doesn't really know him. These people who attacked and keep attacking him thought they knew him very well, was just a loud cunning brainless people.
Hedeliza was making a face while reading some words the people posted in social media. Some of them were happy that finally Mr. Foster stepped down from the chair of being the President. Some of them extended their sympathy. These people!
How can they be happy that Mr. Foster stepped down when in fact — the fact and the reason of him being not the President anymore is because he passed away. Hedeliza caught Shekinah looking at her and so she quickly logged her social media account out for Shekinah. These people could stress her friend even more.
"Are you okay?" Hedeliza asked Shekinah who is clearly not listening to the people that are speaking and delivering their eulogy.
"I guess, yeah." She heard her answer. It's been days that they haven't seen her cracking a smile, those real smiles.
The public were asking Shekinah to held a longer funeral for the President but Shekinah didn't want to make her family as other people's background in pictorial or documentation. She knew many people loved her family but they don't deserve to be treated like they weren't human.
Some supporters came over just to take picture and posted it online with a caption of "attending the mass funeral of the great President" like what the hell?
"I am Shekinah Foster, the eldest among Carmen and Alexander Foster's children. The big sister of Gio and Jasmien Foster. All of you have already told the world how you knew my parents. When mom and dad was just an ordinary citizen of this country, when they were just a private individuals helping people with the charity my mom held, some of you knows and heard their names already." Tears that came out from her eyes made the people cry and have their full attention to Shekinah who is delivering a eulogy for her family.
"They were my inspiration, our inspiration. When dad decided to enter politics, he joined senatorial candidates and won a chair, we all supported him. The family, the Fosters are all got his back. When mom said, dad is going to run to be a President, the Fosters still there, cheering and supporting him. Mom knows dad's heart and she was the best wife for dad and the best mother for me, Gio and Jasmien."
"We never questioned dad's capability like how other people did. Because of all people, we, his family knows him better. 3/10 discriminated the capabilities of my father for he was not that experienced politician like his other opponents but we got 7/10 believed how golden of a heart Mr. Alexander Foster had."
"People only knew dad's political career but didn't know him being a father. If I were given a chance to choose a father, I would still and willingly choose Mr. President, Alexander Foster. He maybe a busy father for he has the whole nation in his shoulder but there was never a day that he would forget to ask how was my, my siblings and mom's day, knowing that among all of us he was the one who has the hardest."
"My mom, Carmen Foster, she was my best friend. She was the first person who molded me to know how to stand on my own. She was the best mom for she didn't let money control my mind. For all you know, my parents stopped supporting me and my brother Gio financially when we turned 18. They required us to get a job, whatever job it is as long as it's not illegal. Whether in our own businesses or other people's business."
"Because according to mom, you will never get realize the value of every small things if you didn't experience every hardwork of having them. Every night mom went home late from her work but never she would go straight to her room and sleep without checking us, her children, in our room, and that is the reason why locking our room doors are forbidden."
Raixen and friends wanted to run and hug the crying Shekinah while delivering her words and telling the people how beautiful family she had. It was their first time witnessing Shekinah having this heavy burden in her chest to breath and live.
She was trying her best not to break down in front of these people and in front of her family. Yes, her tears were nonstop while her words are also nonstop. She would never get tired of shouting in the world how she loves these people in her back lying and sleeping soundly, forever.
"Gio, my only brother, who knows how to stand in his own bravely. He was the sweetest brother that he is willing to do girls thing just to make our baby sister Jasmien happy. He promised to Jasmien that he would go on swimming with her in that vacation since I had a class. He acts like he is older than me to make people back off when they laughed at me for no reason. He has a strong yet pure heart and he got that from dad. He had a long way of his journey that ended in there, ended in just a blink."
Shekinah's voice were shaking but she still managed to deliver her words clearly.
"And our baby, the little Foster. I never imagined seeing her in this state, inside that chest." She pointed the coffin where Jasmien peacefully sleeping. "I always imagined her, wearing a school uniform, wearing gown and toga, walking in the runway because she loves modeling. She loves the supermodels Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. She couldn't afford to miss the show showing them. Her youTube history was all about Kendall and Gigi."
"But I could never have that moment in the world anymore. I couldn't see and witness how my baby sister conquer the world, how she is going to reach her dreams, how beautiful she is when she grow up. How fighter she may become. She wasn't able to even step in – in a primary grade. She was so excited, she even asked me to buy her a new bags. And she wasn't able to see her most requested huge gifts from me and my best friends."
"Mom, Dad, Gio, Jasmien, I'm sorry — I'm sorry for not being with you. If only I knew. I missed you guys and I don't know how to start a day when I couldn't see you anymore. Who am I going to go to when I'm sick, mommy? Who am I going to go to when I don't understand lessons, daddy? Who am I going to go to when I need to edit things for my project, Gio? Who am I to go to when I need stress reliever, Jasmien? I have no one, I am all left alone."
And even how hard she tried her best not to break down in where she was standing, Shekinah failed. She bend the knee for she couldn't hold the pain anymore. She was crying hard and Raixen come to help her and be her strength to stand.
Everyone who sees Shekinah got teary eyed and some cried. They can feel how painful this one for her. Just imagine losing all your family members in the same day.
Medias are all around, waiting to get a chance to get a word from the eldest daughter of the late Mr. President.
"Hija, you should have take a rest, just a little while, come on, don't worry in here. I promise to look at them, " Raixen mom's said.
After releasing all the thought she had in mind about her family, Shekinah seems like became exhausted. She was crying hard while speaking and no one interrupted her. Everyone was paying attention, listening and absorbing the pain she was releasing. Also, everyone was waiting what would be her reaction about the accident that happened.
"Babe, let's go? Just atleast an hour or two? Please?" Shekinah stared at Raixen that beg her to take some rest. She take a glance to the 4 chests in front covered with many flowers while here dad's was covered with the country's flag.
Militaries are there, doing their duty to give a salute for their commander-in-chief. And because, Shekinah declined the state funeral, different branches of military are there in line, just standing with respect to the lying commander-in-chief.
"Just an hour?" She asked that made Raixen smile and nodded.
"Just an hour," he answered. "Felix, please accompany mom here. I'll just have to go with Shekinah and let her have a rest," he said to their friend, Felix, who nodded of course.
"Sure, sure, no problem. Lizle and Hedeliza is just also here. Sheki, you have nothing to worry about everything in here. We promise what you want, is what is going to happen, have a good rest, gain a strength, alright?" Felix said and gave her a peck of kiss in her forehead.
"Thank you, bro," Raixen said, tapping Felix's shoulder. "Mom, we get going now," he also bid a goodbye to his mom.
Raixen mom smiled sweetly even if pain is clearly strong and her eyes are showing that. She kissed Shekinah's forehead and hugged her tight, murmuring some words that made the two of them in tears.
"Take care of her son," his mom said.
Everyone is looking at Shekinah with pity and she's no liking it. She maybe dead soul by now, she may be not showing interests in these people but that doesn't mean she's clueless of what is happening. She just chose to stay silent and focus her family.
The moment she closed the shotgun door and Raixen started driving his car, she lean his head and tears comes out uninvited.
"That wasn't an accident," she suddenly burst out.
Raixen eyes widen and looked at her like she was kidding or she has two grown heads.
"What did you say, babe?" Raixen asked, trying to get things clear. He know he heard it right, he just wanted to made it clear.
Shekinah closed her eyes tight and gritted her teeth. How can they say it was an accident? She knew her dad. He will never go on a trip or he will never drive a car without making sure that everything is settled.
Her dad was the most careful person she knew. So, whatever they are going to say, whatever accident they may point, she won't believe in that.
"I said, that wasn't an accident," she whispered. Before Raixen got a chance to talk, Shekinah fall asleep. His heart is breaking everytime he saw her lifeless.
Their house was just 10 minutes away from where the wake of the Fosters. He carefully carried his girlfriend and bring her in his bed. It's been days that she's not getting enough rest and food. And he's thankful to his mom who's also always there for them. His family loves Shekinah, their family loves each other.
While Shekinah was peacefully sleeping in his bed, Raixen tried to cook some food for her. She barely eat foods there.
Raixen spotted his little brother watching some cartoons movies with a bunch of cookies in his lap. The kid's eyes widened the moment he saw his big brother. Raixen just gave him a quick smile and a kiss in his head and walk straight to the kitchen.
"Kuya, when can I visit Jasmien?"
Raixen turn his head around when he heard the little voice of his 5 year old brother that also happened to be Jasmien's bestfriend.
He was the one telling Jasmien that school was great that made her so eager in going to school.
"What mom told you?" He asked while preparing some ingredients for the soup.
"He said, I can visit Jasmien but she didn't said when," the kid pouted that made him smile.
"Do you wanna see Jasmien?"
The kid nodded a lot and smiled widely. Smile of being excited. Maybe he can bring his brother their, Shekinah was also fond of Lucas.
"Yes! Yes!" He scream in excitement.
"We'll ask ate Sheki, she's sleeping upstairs," Raixen said.
"In my room?"
Shekinah used to sleep in Lucas's room with the girls everytime she came here with friends and having an overnight party or pajama party.
"No, in my room."
