Chapter 9: Sold As A Slave

1088 Words
(Saline POV) Father gave them the permission and I was not worried about it because I know, He didn’t care about me a bit. I was worried about the future…My Future. What will I do after escaping from this hell hole? Did I have anywhere to go other than this house? No, I have no any place to go. I didn’t know them and I also don’t have any idea about this place. I was engrossed in my own thoughts when the old maid entered in my room and gave me my food. She opened the chains and I slumped on the floor like a dead body. She had a look of sympathy in her eyes but I knew that she was as weak as me and couldn’t do anything to save me. I gathered my courage and lifted myself a bit and she came forward to help me a bit. I took the support of the wall and started eating my food. She quickly left the room and tears rolled down on my face but I had no time to waste in crying. I quickly finished it and headed towards the kitchen to clean the dishes. I finished my work till noon and started waiting for them to decide my fate. After waiting a few minutes, They opened the door with victorious smiles on their faces. “Looks like someone failed badly, Right?” Rania asked her mother but I knew that the question was directed towards me. “Yeah, Someone was looking for the dreams to fly in the sky but we timely clipped her feathers to remind her real worth,” Her mother valine said and I want to cry but I kept my face straight like I have no idea whom they were talking to. “Now, It is the time for our real action and time to get rid of the burden from our shoulders,” Rania snickered in an arrogant tone and my heart pained a bit. “Yeah! You are right indeed. I prepared all the things and this time your father will also not say anything foolish to save her from her fate,” Valine said and then they both laughed at my helpless state. I kept standing there like a statue and was watching the show of my own helplessness. Valine gestured and a maid came towards me. She grabbed my wrist and started dragging me like a sack outside the room. They also followed behind me. They entered in a carriage and then the maid also pushed me inside it. I entered but there was no empty seat for me, I looked towards them but they had a look of hatred on their faces. “What are you looking, B*tch? Sit on the floor,” Rania said and I silently sat in front of their feet. She put her feet on my leg but I didn’t say anything. I don’t know why fate was so cruel to the poor. Did they not have lives? Did they not have any dreams of the future? I want to ask all these questions from God but I know in my heart that my questions will remain unanswered as always. The sound of the hoofs of the horses was the only thing that seemed interesting during the journey and I was listening to the sound like It was the most interesting thing in the whole world. Soon, I started feeling pain in my leg and when I looked Rania was putting pressure on her heel to sink it in my flesh and that’s why I started feeling pain. I didn’t utter a single word but my dress started to become a little bit of red as blood started oozing out from the flesh. “Don’t do this, We have to present her in the market. If she becomes hurt then they will give us less money,” Her mother said, and then she removed her heel from my leg. I hissed at the pain but they didn’t pay any attention and I started crying silently. “Mom! You are siding with that little b*tch?,” Rania asked in a serious tone and her mother shook her head in a disappointing manner. “Why will I side with her? I am just trying to shove some sense in this little brain of yours,” She said in a stern tone but Rania couldn’t care about her. “You better not because I will never forgive you if you dare to side with her ever in your life,” Rania pointed her finger and I wiped my tears before watching their little argument drama. “Rania! You better behave because I am your mother. You have to give me respect and I will not bear any disrespect,” She snarled but Rania acted that she didn’t even care about her and her words as well. “Your father was right, I really spoiled you with so much love and unnecessary favors,” She said in an angry tone. “You didn’t give me any unnecessary favor but You also want to get rid of that b*tch and Now, You are acting all innocent to put all the blame on my shoulders,” Rania retorted back. I was quite enjoying their drama because they also make my life a living hell. “I am not blaming you but I only advising you,” Valine loosen up a bit and I want to laugh because that villainous was the one, Who wanted to sell me like a slave. Our carriage stopped with a halt and they both changed their expressions in the millisecond and composed themselves like nothing happened. I wanted to stomp my foot like a little angry child but they dragged me from the carriage with a jerk and I barely save myself otherwise, I was about to fall with my face first. I clenched my fists and started walking with them and then finally we entered in a clear ground which was located at the backside of the Palace. Many females and males were already present there with their masters or guardians. I started feeling disgusted at the thought that they want to sell them like some animals. Did they have no right to live like normal human beings? Did they also outcast their families like me? I thought and A guard of the Palace came towards us and I tensed with the thought of being living my whole life like a slave.
