Despite everything, I found unexpected solace in the soft, white bed with Snuggles by my side. For the first time in a long while, sleep came without the usual torment of nightmares. The absence of my nightly demons was confusing, but I was thankful for the reprieve. My waking life had already become a living nightmare; the last thing I needed was to be haunted in my sleep as well.
