MAVERICK. I paced around restlessly as I tried to make something she could eat when she finally woke up. I didn't dare to sit down, nor to give a window for my thoughts to filter in. Not with her sick, and sweating profusely despite the heavy rain falling outside and the cool temperature in her home. The weather had turned gloomy even before I arrived at her house three hours ago, and an hour after I got here, the angry clouds released their tears and the pelting sound of the rain outside wasn't as comforting as it had always been.
